Coming from the guy who all this time had to pretend he couldn’t hear the familiar strain of a ship’s oven that desperately needed replacing nor the smell wafting through the vents. It’s still like a small ship at the end of the day…

Fox is a simple guy with simple tastes. Anybody could tell you he doesn’t drink, but if he had to pick, close friends would know it’d be a brandy he knows his dad used to swear by. Of course, Peppy would know the brand too. And a home-baked chocolate cake does him just fine.

Especially when you consider the lengths you gotta go through to get those kind of luxuries on a space-faring vessel, on their budget and timing. Must’ve come outta Pep’s own pocket.

He always had a tendency to spoil him. Even just a little. “You’re too good t'me, y'know that?” Too good for me, even. “I’ll take it easy. Thanks, man. Thanks a lot.”

“Maybe we could split a piece? Maybe have a glass each? It’s– It’d mean a whole lot.”

Many times, when used to the bravado and confident unity of the team, Falco would forget that all of them were broken in some form or another. And they all hid it, or never mentioned about the scars over their ribcages. Himself? Heh. None of your business. Slippy was with the lack of confidence and experience, and the fears that plagued him. And Fox with the weight he carried with all of their lives and the death of his father. Now Peppy…

Well, with how much the Hare would fuss at them, he truly would forget that the old soul was as brittle as them. So it caught him off guard to find the senior on his own, looking down at pictures. Old pictures. Some torn, some bent.

And some turned over. Too painful.

It was strange, to see someone that was able to shut his beak with a few words, shed tears. And even if he lacked proper words to share, the avian still approached and chanced a heartfelt squeeze on those aged shoulders.

//Starting three threads at once the week before spring break is a GREAT IDEA what could POSSIBLY go wrong hadsjkasjd “Mister Hare?” For somebody who yelled at Fox upon first meeting before ripping her staff out of his hands and shooting at Andross, Krystal sure had turned sweet and demure very quickly after being taken in on the Great Fox. So polite in fact that she had taken to calling the older rabbit ‘Mister Hare’ and hadn’t kicked the habit yet in months, approaching on soft paws with a slightly troubled expression. “Or, ahem, Peppy, sorry.” There you go Krystal. “I know Falco and Slippy have no telepathic abilities, and that ROB is a mechanical... Pilot,” way to avoid saying robot Krystal. “But Fox hasn’t shown enough telepathic abilities to be registering so strongly in my mind and he hasn’t been able to give me a straight answer on this subject. Have you had a telepath on this ship recently? Other than myself of course. I apologize if it’s a tender or sore topic given the history here, I just... Need to know I’m not going crazy.” A soft chuckle that sounded a little more worried than amused came from her mouth then, but there was clear distress on her features, if only a touch.
