“Captain, there is a moment in every scientist’s life when you just have to take a break to work on your passion projects,” Brainstorm sat at the corner of Rodimus’ table. “And this is the moment for us.”

“Us?” Rodimus glanced over to Perceptor. “Is it true? Are you also being swallowed by the spirit of science?”

“Always,” Perceptor coughed. “I mean, it is as much my project as Brainstorm’s.”

PART 6 OF SACRED SCALES!!!!

Oh my goooossssshhhhhhh Brainstorm was a pain in the butt to design.

Anywho.

Brainstorm and Perceptor both work at the Iaconi Institute of Advanced Science. They’re the most chaotic lab partners in existence, but get along well.

Perceptor stared at the injured, bandaged form of his lab partner. This was the fifth injury this decacycle- and they weren’t even three cycles in. He rubbed between his horns, a headache growing. Why was Brainstorm like this? Such reckless behavior only hurt him and yet he still. Continued. He wasn’t a bad scientist, no, just the opposite. Brainstorm was brilliant. Though it rarely seemed that way to Perceptor. The crimson scientist sighed and kept watch over the dragon who’d worked his reckless little way into his heart. Brainstorm was a good scientist, and an even better friend. But it was rather tiring to make sure he stayed alive.

Brainstorm hardly remembered what happened. One minute he’d been adding a chemical to a solution, the next his ears were ringing and his face burned. Again. Oh well. It didn’t matter much anyways. He’d just heal and get right back at it with Percy at his side! Oh how he loved his lab partner- Perceptor was brilliant beyond measure, logical and sensible and steady as an anchor! He also was the common sense to Brainstorm’s ‘creative flare’. He peeled one eye open to see Perceptor’s disapproving, though worried, frown. Percy was like that. He’d have to drag Percy out to a few events- that would get him to smile, surely! A smile crossed his dandelion colored scales, “hello, Percy!”

A sigh.

“Hello, Brainstorm.”
