so many times

so many times in your life your gonna be in love. you fall in love in the 3rd grade with the boy across the room, you fall in love with your first boyfriend in the 10th grade, and then again in the 12th if you're that lucky. you moved out of high school and it fades but you might fall in love with the neighbour that helped you carry your groceries to the 5th floor of your apartment complex in college, but you only get one person that crosses your life and is positioned to be exactly where you are at the same time they are. you only get one person that, out of all these people, you never fall out of love with. you may find them when you are 16, 27 or 58 but you find them, they are yours. and you need to hold onto them, because the way they love you, and the way you love them, is something you will never find in anyone else. so if you are crying because you love him and he doesn't love you, wipe your tears, because someone better is coming. this person..they are just practice. because your person won't ever make you feel like you are not good enough. so just keep going for now. they are coming.

they say, “you will suffer.”

but they don't say. “but you will also experience the deepest of joys. you will experience the births and deaths of the greatest of loves. and the sun warming the blood under your skin after the coldest of winters. and the rain against your window will sing you to a peaceful sleep. and you will awaken some mornings in the arms of someone who will love you most of all. there will be moments when your soul will glean so beautifully, even the universe will bask in your happiness. yes, you will suffer. but you will be happy beyond your wildest dreams. and that will make every second of the suffering worth it.”
