Why I Rec This Fic: I love Peri-demption fics and this series is way up there for my favourite takes on a Peri-demption. For one thing it has my OTP. :p But seriously, I thoroughly enjoy Mage-Cat’s writing. The sweet moments between Amethyst and Peridot were so so great. And it was great seeing Peridot discover herself and things she enjoyed.

I think it's interesting that Peridot throws around the word "defective" so often in regards to the Crystal Gems and even herself. You know what's an alternative definition of "defect"? Defect: 1. To disown allegiance to one's country and take up residence in another: a Soviet citizen who defected to Israel. 2. To abandon a position or association, often to join an opposing group: defected from the party over the issue of free trade. So really, defective is the PERFECT word to describe the Crystal Gems. They're REBELS, baby! :D
