Do they have pads/tampons in the wizarding world?
Just imagine Hermione walking down the hallway and she bumps in to summer and spills her purse/pouch/satchel, whatever she has, and a tampon goes flying out. No one knows what it is so naturally they are curious about the muggle contraption and want to know what it does. So here Hermione is just wanting to go to class but everyone wants to know the purpose of a tampon so she has to explain to everyone what a tampon is, yes, even other girls.
