I really liked your notes on the shipping/fandom post about the lack of m/f shipping in fandom! I 100% agree that a lot of people seem a bit wary of shipping m/f, even tho those characters could both be bi. Occasionally I think m/f ships are kinda shamed in fandom-- if a character is confirmed queer people read it as gay and not bi, and sometimes shame those who read a canonically q character as bi and ship them in a m/f relationship. Anyway sorry for the word dump, I liked your thoughts a lot!
hey!! i’m glad my tags hit on something that other people have noticed too. i’ve also seen m/f ships get shamed sometimes, especially when a character is canonically queer — or even canonically bi / pan. some people are really weird about canon mspec characters in m/f relationships. i sometimes get the vibe that that people think the representation is “wasted” if the character isn’t in a m/m or f/f relationship? which is wack, honestly. and i think that deserves to be talked about
