Begedil Daging/Perkedel Daging- Beef & Potato Patty ( Crispy & Tasty)
Perkedel Daging or also known as bergedil or begedil in Malaysia & Singapore is a popular Indonesian side dish that is great to be eaten alone as snacks or serve with Soto Ayam.
This bergedil is so crispy on the outside and soft in the inside, perfectly fried with the taste of fried onions, really delish :)
Begedil Daging/Perkedel Daging- Beef & Potato Patty: 15 patties
300gm ground meat ( 1/2 cup)
3-4 medium sized potatoes which i fried previously
88.7 gm fried onion ( 1/2 cup)
30 gm chopped parsley (1/2 cup)
1 egg
Salt & white pepper to taste
Oil for deep frying ( vegetable oil)
Method:
-Place potatoes in a large mixing bowl and mash with a fork while still warm because it's easier to do so. Set aside.
-In a big bowl, add beef, salt, pepper, fried onions , parsley and potatoes. Combine well and shape them into small patties. Set aside.
-Heat up the pan and add oil for deep frying. Whisk the egg and set aside.
When the oil is hot enough, lower the heat to medium.
-Coat the perkedel in an egg you beaten earlier & deep fry until golden brown on one side, about 2-3 minutes and then flip over to the other side and fry until golden brown for another 2-3 minutes.
-Keep your eyes on them as they may brown faster if your perkedel is smaller in size. Place on absorbent paper towel and serve warm or room temperature on its own or with other dish and enjoy :)
