Zutara falling in love during Korra’s era after their spouses have passed
They're best friends and have been since they were teenagers out for revenge. Katara helped nurse Mai through her difficult pregnancy with Izumi, Zuko helped her wrangle Bumi and Kya more times than she can count. They cried on each other's shoulders when Iroh passed.
Now it's just the two of them (they're not sure where Toph has gone off to). There's letters and some phone calls. Druk is becoming a permeant fixture in the South Pole. So much so he has his own stable next to Naga (Korra is completely unaware of this).
It happens one day while Zuko is complaining about some new law Izumi is enacting that is entirely something he would have done anyway. Katara is telling him he's being an idiot and that Izumi is not five anymore and trying to make a turtleduck his Minister of the Treasury (although that might not have been a bad idea).
Their eyes meet and Katara blushes of all things because she see's the handsome young man she had a mild crush on in her twenties (not the teenager, he annoyed her too much) within her old friend. Zuko fumbles over his words because she's the pretty girl he tied to a tree and frozen him in ice.
When he takes her hand in his there's a spark and maybe they're not too old for love and maybe Korra can talk to Aang about forgiving them and he'll silently ask Mai for her forgiveness but, well, their spouses would want them to be happy.
