AS HE HISSED under his breath, she placed the cotton swap drenched with antiseptic over a gash on his bare torso. “It wouldn`t hurt so much if you didn`t move around so much,” she pushed the cotton swap a little harder against the wound, punishing him lightly for being reckless on their mission. Though, she can`t be too upset at him about it --- it was expected of him to risk his life to save the child; she`d be disappointed in him if he didn`t. It`s only a shame that there was a dire &. irredeemable consequence for his heroic actions.
Even though a million questions were whirring around her mind about it, she didn`t want to broach the topic about his quirk ( or what happened to make him lose it ), let alone ask him how he feels now that it`s gone. Nejire can`t possibly fathom how it must feel to lose what she has been training to perfectly master her entire life for in one second, a single second that could very well break her spirit, her dreams, her entire reason for living.
It completely broke Mirio. It was perfectly visible on his face despite the cheerful disposition he wore to mask just how vulnerable &. helpless he felt. She knew how his sadness looked like all too well.
“You need to be careful out there, Togata-kun. You are too strong &. cool for your own good, but I don`t want to always clean up your mess,” Nejire offered one of her best friends a gentle smile as she attempted to lighten up the mood, fully prepared to support him in the future as pro-heroes, as comrades in arms, when he needs it; because, she`d be damned if something as being quirkless is going to deter them from achieving their dreams together. From the looks of it now, he`s going to need a lot more than just her dressing up his wounds to heal.
“Though, it`s not like I mind all that much. I`m just happy that you didn`t do anything stupid like get yourself killed.”
