Hey! I was reading A Handmade Scrapbook and was inspired with a million ideas in the span of three (3) seconds! I was w ok wondering if I had your permission to start a fic with your characters? It would, in very few ways, relate to your plot but I love Hinami, Masaomi, Youji, and Shiori so much! Would it be okay?

Thank you for asking, anon-friend! I'm very glad that you enjoy these characters-- and especially glad that you enjoy them enough that you would like to write stories with them!

I will say, because I am very much interested in writing an original story with these characters (and, in fact, am working on that now) I would like to be cautious with how other people write them. At least until I post/publish the original story with these characters. So for me to give my permission for you to write and post stories with these characters, you would have to:

1) Tell me who you are. If you have a tumblr, please feel free to message me! If you don't, but you want to post a story with these characters, then just tell me your ao3 account name in an anonymous tumblr ask and preface that you don't want me to actually post the ask. I just like knowing! And also so I can check out what you wrote. @melissaabroad has been really awesome about giving me the heads up about the stories she’s working on, and I have really appreciated being kept in the loop and meeting new friends =D

2) Credit me-- (obviously, and with a polite request that you also link to "This is Love" as the story they appear in).

3) Post the story as fanfiction-- This was a tricky thing that came up with melissaabroad was interested in posting stories with these characters. If you are just writing a story with these characters, then it doesn't exactly fall under the category of Kuroko no Basuke, but it also doesn't fall under the category of "original fiction" on ao3, since that's only for your own original characters. I would say the neatest solution is to post it as KNB fanfiction, unless you were writing the characters into a different fan universe. 

If you have any other questions or concerns, please do let me know! I am sincerely pleased people enjoy these characters and what to write stories with them. I just want to be very clear about what I'm comfortable with, as I also enjoy these characters and want to write stories with them =) 

(Good news, as I said, is that I am definitely writing an original story with these characters, and once I post/publish that, any and all fanfiction could just be fanfiction of that story. This was a somewhat weird way to officially announce that I'm doing this, but ahaha, I never do anything in the proper order of things.)

Hello Ottemis, sorry to bother you. I wanted to ask you what your current mod permissions are? The post I found about them was 2 years old, and I thought they might be out of date. Thank you for your time, and hope your day is going well.

No need to apologize, it’s no bother at all. My permission rules are still up to date on Nexus and the likes, although I took your ask as an opportunity to reword and update them a bit.This in light of recent developments with the A.L.O.T. texture packs.

PERSONAL USEYou can use assets for your personal projects as long as you don’t share them publicly, but a notification is always appreciated.PUBLIC RELEASEYou can likely use assets originating from my projects for your own and release them if:- You ask me about using assets originating from my projects before hosting them.- You document used assets and properly credit me by linking directly to the original project the assets were taken from.- Any monetization is absolutely prohibited. This includes hosting projects using assets originating from my projects on sites that have donations enabled and/or asking for any type of compensation for the use/download said content, or for the continued support of creating said content. Don’t profit off my work.- Your project permission rules prohibit use and re-sharing of files in other projects without the express consent of all original authors, which would include me.

Note: If I have given you permission before for a project, don’t assume you have automatic permission for any and all projects in the future. Always ask first.

Should you break these rules after permission was granted, I reserve the right to withdraw permission for the continued use of my assets and could demand their immediate removal from your project(s).

That is my retexture, a FULL RETEXTURE I created, textures were taken and adjusted for use on Brooks. The brunt of the work involved in such a case is mine. This work was taken, donations were enabled for it and I was never asked nor is proper credit given adhering to my EXTENSIVE permission rules trying to avoid just this from happening. That's aside from the fact that this could have been requested and I would have done the work myself as it's trivial compared to how much work it took creating the retexture in the first place. The opportunity to do this is now being ripped from me.

If people want to use my retextures, add things to them, port them, whatever, they can freely do so for personal use but the second you take them without asking, you try to profit off them and you don't credit me properly you are disrespecting my work, my wishes and are stealing from me. I am not an unfair person but this is not acceptable and will be met with ZERO tolerance.

Due to some bad experiences with people using assets originating from my mods in ways I don't agree with, I'm unfortunately sharpening up my permission rules and am forced into specificity:

PERSONAL USE You can use assets for your personal projects as long as you don't share them publicly. PUBLIC RELEASE You can use assets originating from my projects for your own and release them if:

You ask me about using assets originating from my projects before hosting them. I need to be made aware of them existing.

You properly credit me by linking directly to the original project the assets were taken from.

Any monetization is absolutely prohibited. This includes hosting projects using assets originating from my projects on sites that have donations enabled and/or ask for any type of compensation to use/download said content, or for the continued support of creating said content (don't profit off my work).

Your project will adopt these conditions upon release to further protect my assets.

If you think you've seen my mods or parts of them used anywhere not following these therms please alert me so I can take appropriate action. Most of you are absolute sweethearts and have done nothing wrong, I just ran into too many bad apples is all. Thanks for the continued support guys.
