Random thought: Everybody goes on with white dragons being a thing, but we know from descriptions in the books that dragons of the same color can be different shades and tones and Ruth is described as not actually being white but instead all the various colors of dragon, just in such pale shades that he appears white if you aren’t getting close and really looking (or if he’s dirty).

Logically, it’s just as likely that ‘white’ dragons would actually be multicolored dragons in various shades as it is that they would all appear to be white.
