No, someone being homophobic to another character does not make the story overall homophobic.
No, something bad happening to a female character does not make the story misogynistic.
No, a poc character being part of the bad guys group does not make a story racists.
They of course, very much can... Depending on the context of the story. Does the narrative support and agree with what the homophobe said? Is the woman written in a way where she is just there to be fridge or generate sympathy points for man pain? Is the poc written in a racially insensitive way, or one of the few or only pocs with dialogue, and is still the scary bad guy?
I just feel like people here love to take these things out of the context for just to be 'woke' and angry at something. It makes it harder for people to see the real issue in a given story.
I hate how I always come on here when I’m depressed but here I am. I just needed to cry today, which I did. I don’t think I cried enough though. So because of that I’m about to spark my third blunt of the day. Life is life. Nothing really new, just a bunch of old.
I guess I’m in a point of my life where I’m trying to determine if I’m getting played. And that itself is bringing up bad memories. And because of that old flings are reappearing in my life and in my head (Venus retrograde/shadow period in Gemini). So MORE PAIN. I shouldn’t even be in my feels but here I am yet again.
I’m just going to try to focus on myself for the rest of the retrograde season. It just hurts that I’m always having to force connections out of my life to avoid getting hurt.
Trolling
I don't think people understand the word "trolling".
TPTB teases the viewers and stuff, the actors also do those things because they can't go around spoiling the plot in the show. Their whole job is to create excitement and hype.
Trolling is when you're doing stuff to blatantly garner a negative response from the folks on the internet. Just doing shit/saying shit that would upset people. For people to say that TPTB are trolling, I really think they should go and consider the actual definition of the word.
Maybe the word has changed in meaning now, but for all the years I've spent on the internet in its boards and games, I'm pretty sure that this isn't trolling behavior. The closest person to a troll is Robert Kirkman, and even he pales in comparison to a true, bona fide troll.
The Anon system on Tumblr is closer to being a troll-y thing than this crap the other ship is calling a troll from the TPTB and the actors.
Maybe I'm on crack, or maybe the other folks just imagine that everything that occurs which relates to TWD has something to do with their ship all the time or something. But to think that shipping has that much of an impact on a show about humans surviving in a zombie apocalypse is crazy. The TWD universe does not revolve around shipping at all. There are tons of fans who could give two shits about shipping, and that's cool. I just find it so fascinating to see that there are people out there who are willing to make themselves look silly because they feel entitled to something that was never there's to demand or control.
I think it's really cute when people are grateful for little things and appreciate somebody's help, it's the nicest thing ever
I decided to still love Dumbledore... I mean, I know what he did in the past, and that he somehow used Harry, but he also helped Harry in so many ways. Maybe it was because he wanted him to be as powerful as possible for the fight, but maybe he truly liked Harry and not in a romantically way (like in a few theories I've heard...) I mean he was a wise and great man and for me he will ever be!
