[ I got totally screwed in the last remake by not picking the Water starter, and Popplio's too adorable. I almost went with Litten, but I almost always choose Fire so I wanted to try smth different. As a Shadow writer, it was hard denying the red/black color scheme, lol. ]

i almost always choose water with 2 exceptions but they’ve neve rlet me down i love em and primarina too

It’s amazing how just the sound of his voice can soothe every ache in Shadow’s body.

He settles down into their bed beside him, shoes and socks left near the door and gloves on the nightstand. Despite the dark from the late hour, his already adjusted eyes can make out his form bundled underneath the thick blankets. He shifts over closer to him and slowly slides a dark hand along his side to rest at his back. A small nose nudges Sonic’s own in a small and affectionate nuzzle.

“I’m sorry,” he murmurs, as his body’s finally allowed to relax. “The Doctor was insistent on being festive.” At least it’d only been him, and that GUN’d gotten wind of his operations soon enough to shut him down before anything catastrophic happened. “How are you feeling?”

  As Shadow made his way onto the bed along with his explanation, something dull pang inside of Sonic’s chest. The mention of Eggman, most likely; things had been so different. He hadn’t even known something like that had been going on...why did no one tell him? He’d been walking again, after all...not sleeping all day. He felt more capable. Did everyone really pity him that much?

  Shuffling closer, he rested his forehead in against Shadow’s warm chest after the delivered nuzzle. He breathed in his scent, finding comfort in his presence. At least he came home safe. “...Did y’ work it out? Is everyone okay?” He murmured in gentle inquiry. An ear flicked left, then right. “’M okay. I didn’t sleep much today. Sterling spent some time with me--- he's gettin' real good at those mini instruments y' gave him.”
