Janice Howell, 57, of Los Angeles, crochets a beanie after enjoying a turkey lunch provided by Hawk Serves, an independent group of volunteers doing what they can to help the homeless and others in need, at Perris Hill Park, in San Bernardino. Howell, wearing a hospital patient bracelet, spoke of altercations with her landlord that lead to her being homeless and living on the streets near Mt.
