Sayaka had been nervous about her first day at a new school; she hadn’t been to a normal school in a few years, and really, private tutors between concerts and plane flights wasn’t really the same. She loved her friends and band-mates, and she’d never give up being an idol, but she had almost forgotten what it was like to lead an average school life. Move in day was a chaotic mess of futons, boxes, students, and parents--she barely made it in with her dad and her manager--and getting her things in took a few hours. Once she was finally settled, and her visitors had gone, she sat down on her new bed and looked around. The room looked sad and lonely, not the type of place for a teenage girl to hang out with her friends and have sleepovers.
“That’s it!” she cried as she hopped up, “I need a friend.” Quickly, she checked her hair and makeup in the mirror to make sure she looked as good as possible, then stepped out of her room. Each door was labeled with a name and a room number, so she could see that right next door to her, was a girl’s name, Touko Fukawa. The name seemed familiar, although she couldn’t recall why. Surely introducing herself to a neighbor would be a good way to get started in a new place, right? With that in mind, she knocked cheerfully on the door. Once the door began to open, however, a premonition of trouble began to set in. Was this a good idea? What if her neighbor didn’t like her? There was no choice, now, the best thing to do was smile.
“Hi there! I hope I’m not bothering you, I just wanted to introduce myself. I’m your next door neighbor, Sayaka Maizono. I hope we can be good friends!”
