A bit ago @goose-books made a post about how Anna was his OC of the year and asked if anyone else had one and I was immediately like. Percy. Percy is my OC of the year. And I proceeded to forget about making a post for a while but then I was going through my photos and found the various screenshots I'd collected so here's Persimmon Clay's little year in review!

Persimmon (he/they) is from my untitled Manor in the Hills WIP

• what they smell like: ground up herbs and a hint of campfire smoke!

• what their favorite smells in the world are: they love the salty smell of the ocean breeze, and fresh baked bread! I imagine he grows fond of whatever scents Florence uses in his soaps and perfumes, but I haven't figured out what those are...mint and lavender, perhaps...

• what pajamas they wear/what they wear to sleep in: He's usually too tired by the end of the day to change into anything specific to sleep in, so he just...passes out in the clothes he'd been wearing that day, unless they're really gross. If he has the energy to strip before bed, he'll probably sleep naked.

• my favorite ship (if applicable) and a cute hc about them: AGAIN, IS IT CHEATING IF I JUST SAY PERCY/FLORENCE/MIRA/HAWTHORNE?? SINCE THEY ALL END UP TOGETHER?? There are elements of all their individual relationships I ADORE but them as a squad is just so...intense, I guess is the right word. Like, they're stuck in a haunted manor that seems intent on killing them, they're gonna grow closer in a weird and intense way. My cute hc about them is probably that they're all oblivious to the fact that their feelings for each other are reciprocated...except Hawthorne. She knows that they're all in love/falling in love with one another, but she doesn't wanna push them into anything they aren't ready for. Also, she just likes watching them be stupid around each other; she thinks it's cute and also HILARIOUS. Except for maybe watching Percy and Flor around each other, she finds them a bit pathetic nendjdHFJZHDH

• my favorite friendship (if applicable) and a cute hc about them: Percy and their as-of-yet-unnamed apothecary mentor!! I'm a huge sucker for a mentor basically adopting their mentee, and that's exactly the dynamic these two have going on. I think some days, when Persimmon is absolutely exhausted and just wants to pass out, his mentor forces him to sit down and eat something first. Very much "why don't you eat some soup from a carved wooden bowl and maybe you'll calm down" vibes.

• a song that reminds me of them: gods, okay, so like...there are bits and pieces of a few songs that remind me of him, but that bit in Farewell Wanderlust by The Amazing Devil that goes, "I promise you I'm not broken, I promise you there's more/More to come, more to reach for, more to hurl at the door/Goodbye to all my darkness, there's nothing here but light/Adieu to all the faceless things that sleep with me at night/This here is not makeup, it's a porcelain tomb/And this here is not singing, I'm just screaming in tune"....yeah

• what animal i think they would be if they were an animal: I'm thinking some kind of bird...my first instinct is a crow, but that's not quite it...a pigeon, perhaps?? Something a little feral but still soft if you know how they communicate. Also, this means you can hold them gentle like hamburger

• what position they sleep in: They do a lot of tossing and turning, so I wouldn't say they sleep in one particular position, but when they're having a restful night, they're a side sleeper!

• their favorite drink: Juice!! He loves fruit and will consume it in any way possible.

• a gift i would give them if i could: One of those jars that has sand from several different beaches! A piece of a meteorite, perhaps! OHH a jar filled partially with beach sand and a piece of a meteor sitting on top of the sand!!
