Poppy: I am not boring!

Persimmon: Hate to break it to you, but you kinda are. I mean you just paint all day and when you aren’t home you’re at work....that’s like the definition of boring.

Poppy: You know how much painting-

Persimmon: [mockingly] Painting is my life and it’s very hard work, blah blah, my clients, blah, oil paint takes even longer, blah, blah, I’m Poppy and I’m boring.

Poppy: I don’t sound like that...

Persimmon: You need to loosen up a bit.

Persimmon: Ah yes, the lone wolf herself. Thriving in the boonies of Peanut Brittle Bay. Comes out once every week to forage for food.

Poppy: Can we not start this right now?

Ocarina: His execution was subpar, but he has a point. You can’t truly be as happy as you say you are here.

Poppy: You both know I need my alone time! It’s great! I can concentrate on my work and there’s no one to stress me out, unlike right now. Plus I’m not “alone” mom and dad live here too.

Persimmon: They don’t count, they’re our parents! You literally don’t have any other friends besides us...that’s kinda sad.

Poppy: I love being ganged up on by my siblings, mmmm, feels great! 10/10 would recommend.

Ocarina: So...you actually gonna come to one of our parties now?

Poppy: I’m sorry, “our”?

Persimmon: I told you she was moving into my apartment! Plus Rina’s a better organizer than me...we’ll be unstoppable.

Ocarina: Yeah, and you’ll be on the VIP list everytime. So you better come!

Poppy: I mean I guess you being there too is better than just Percy...

Persimmon: Hey!

Ocarina: You know it’s true! We’ll take good care of you, Poppy.

Persimmon: Okay maybe that wasn’t a good pitch, but come on Poppy! I wouldn’t force you to do anything that makes you truly don’t want to, if you’re uncomfortable you can leave, but at least you tried.

Poppy: So if I go to one of these parties, you’ll stop telling me I’m boring?

Persimmon: Only if you start leaving the house to do things other than work and hanging out with our parents.

Poppy: Ugh...I guess it couldn’t hurt.

Persimmon: Now that’s the spirit!!

Poppy: Now what do you suggest I do about that?

Persimmon: Actually coming to one of the 20 parties a week I invite you to could be a start.

Poppy: Come on, you know parties aren’t my thing...

Persimmon: They aren’t like extreme ragers or anything, just a bunch of friends hanging out and getting sloshed. Sometimes with lasers.

Poppy: Getting sloshed? I think I’ll pass.

Persimmon: You don’t have to get sloshed! You can be as weird as you want and no one will even remember!

Poppy: Wow what a dream scenario...

Ocarina: You know it comes from a place of love. We worry about you, Poppy.

Persimmon: Yeah, we really do just want you to make some friends and have a life outside of work. All work and no play makes a boring Poppy.

Poppy: Percy you are literally so bad at these things, I have to laugh. But I know you guys mean well and I can be kinda stubborn-

Ocarina: Kinda?

Poppy: Okay, I’m really stubborn. I worry a lot, both of you know that, and it’s scary out there. But here I know I’m safe, I have all the things that make me happy, so I don’t need to leave. For you guys, I’ll try to change. I’ll visit you at the apartment, go to your crazy parties, and try to get out more. I’ll try to start living more.

Ocarina: That’s the best birthday gift I could ever have asked for.

Poppy: Same old, same old really.

Persimmon: Really? You haven’t done anything new or exciting in the past what, like 3 months since I last saw you?

Poppy: Not really, no....you know how it is-

Persimmon: Yeah, yeah. Eat, painting, work, sleep, repeat. You had to have done something!

Poppy: I went to the gym with dad...

Persimmon: Maker you’re boring.
