Why
I’ve started and stopped and begun and given up on this project multiple times in the last 15 years, but the desire to pursue this passion won’t give up on me. I think the roots go deep and were present long before I felt the first inkling of reaching out to the world.
With what I imagine is an artist’s need to create, I have been compelled to compile and organize information around a certain... ideal; but the tricky part is, an ideal is subjective. It’s personal.
Indeed, so is art.
And yet I wanted to produce something that everyone could use and would find meaningful. Recently, I read a quote that made clear to me why my previous attempts were not successful or satisfying or universally well-received. Regrettably, I don’t have an attribution but I will add it if anyone knows who said, more or less: “The more you please generally, the less you please profoundly.”
My efforts are not for everyone, it turns out. Only some people will understand and appreciate and find meaningful what I am doing. Nevertheless, it is still my hope that everyone still positively impacted.
So instead of shaping, forming, branding and honing in advance what I want to see delivered with the hope that the world accepts and welcomes the final product, I have decided to change tactics.
Less structure, less forethought; more heart, more faith.
And, in effect, more content. The beauty of this platform is that I can constantly revise and update the posts.
I am moving toward organic growth and evolution.
Just like a river that collects fragments of the land as it runs it course over time and deposits them as sediments in a delta, I aim to provide a stream of information that grows into a collection of ideas for others to find value.
My dream is to generate enough momentum that something beautiful can be built from the humble beginnings. If you want to know more, please ask.
