As I’m writing the final chapters, I want to get a few things off my chest and clear the air.
I’ve been feeling worn down by how often people throw around time bound commitments they don’t follow through on. Moving forward, I’m no longer going to tag people who don’t respond to DM:s, comments, or tags—even if they’ve asked me to keep tagging them. That’s a strange kind of ask, honestly, and it doesn’t feel fair.
If anyone wants to stay in touch or be part of the community I try to build here, I believe it’s reasonable to expect some level of mutual effort. We all get busy—life happens—but when people consistently forgets to reply and then jump into new projects or conversations elsewhere, it becomes clear where their priorities lie.
So I’m drawing a line now. I will continue tagging those who engage, who read, who interact. If you lurk, or if you keep saying "I'll reply soon, I've just been busy" but nothing changes, I’ll be removing you from taglists from now on.
This isn’t about holding grudges or calling anyone out. It’s just about honoring the kind of community I want to have here—one built on some level of reciprocity and presence, not performative connection.
I don’t even know what it means to be “moots” if we’re not really sharing anything. I’m here to build community. If y’all are here for something else, that’s okay—but I’m no longer available to be the afterthought or backup online-friend. I deserve more than that.
