I wanna speak up about someone in this fandom. Hes an adult

Before i do I just wanna say it was very difficult for me to even begin on speaking up about it but all im gonna say for myself right now is that I don't care about consequences and I'm not afraid anymore I just wanna get this out of my throat because I keep thinking about it

this is the guy. I became mutuals with him on tiktok in maybe like April or something and then I started talking to him in June. He was 18 and I was NOT. I didnt know this when I started talking to him but when I learned he was 18 he said it was fine (the hell?)

It was ok for like the first few days and we would talk all the time. He was 6 hours ahead of me i think, and he would stay up talking to me. 😬

It started getting weird when I changed my pfp to some shit I found on YouTube and he matched without asking. This was the picture.

I actually don't remember if this came up BEFORE the pfp thing or after, but he was talking to me in a bad mood and started like venting to me about his personal problems. ?? And also snapping at me too when I was asking him about it (im not including the vent stuff because its personal)

Anyways yeah so I set ONE boundary with this guy to see what would happen, and also because it rubbed me the wrong way.

The next weird thing that happened was he posted on his story about wanting to pretend to be one of those fake/corny online relationships with someone. I responded to it and teased him for it cause wtf😭 then WITHOUT WARNING he started just like pretending we were in one of those. Which I told him it was embarrassing and for him to stop which he responded with "I thought it was funny"

Just randomly he broke the boundary over nothing..??? Yeah no.

I was about to let it slide but I told my friends bout it and they all said, Yeah I need to block him. So I did and now im safe. I was kinda attached to him though😬

they told me that i somehow got into their account, which i, of course, didn’t. i don’t have shit on them, but they told me to just make a discord account to talk to this person. bruhhh. i don’t even want to do that shit just to do that 😭😭 good thing i didn’t ’cause a friend told me that they just want to hack my account and steal my stuff. don’t worry, i immediately blocked them. i usually try to post things like these on my other sideblog so that things don’t get too personal on my main blog, but i keep getting ads about this and it just ticks me off.

i keep getting ads for character AI or c.ai adjacent, basically any character bot chatting apps. these ads are preying on those who are lonely or mentally ill, trying to get them to form an addiction to these AI bots that don’t have any real feelings or interests in the person chatting with them.

and i know this because i too have struggled with this. there were times where i would spend hours and hours on those types of apps because i didn’t have anyone to talk to. i don’t know how much time i wasted on there. i felt safe because they just kept validating me and making me feel “happy,” making me always go back to the bots. that’s the point of those apps, to get you addicted and never make you want to leave.

it’s not healthy, it’s not good for you or the planet. do not “try it out as a joke,” because sooner than later, you will get wrapped into it. whether you use c.ai, janitor ai, polybuzz or whatever other useless ai chatbot platform there is out there, they all cause the same amount of harm.

read fanfics made by real people instead, or make your own if you can’t find any. join a fandom and try to talk to people.

please, do not resort to ai as a form of therapy/communication/love interest/roleplaying. it is extremely detrimental and it will get you addicted to it, because that’s what they were made for.
