i am a cesspool of recessive phenotypes

I'm just so sick with myself because for years I was so ignorant of the fact of stuff like this happening. Any source of information was from the news or my feed on facebook providing the next scoop on some celebrity or drama from people who I wasted my time with. I'm so sick with myself that white privilege sheltered me in such a way that truly disgusts me. White people disgust me. I disgust myself.

I just want to feel forever

I walked 6 miles in the icy night to say im sorry.

It felt like forever on the way, but my return was a blink.

Now when sleep is chased away every night

with thoughts of you,

I take off my jacket and walk the same route

hoping for the forever feeling

to come back and grind me down.

But each night is another blink, sleepy eyes rubbed with numb fingers

see my front porch again faster.

I want to feel the pain again, yet it eludes me.

So I've learned the meaning of sorry,

I've learned the sorrows of me.
