I learnt today that Owen has/had cats, and we know Tom adopted dog(s?), I'm curious to see if a personality analysis can come out of this cuz they are otherwise mostly very similar (love the mbti posts btw)

my analysis of this is: OWEN HAS CATS???? CAN THIS MAN PLEASE STOP MAKING ME FALL IN LOVE WITH HIM MORE AND MORE EVERY SINGLE DAY I'M FHSJDHDJ

other than that though it's pretty interesting to me. this is not really an analysis, more of a vague personal thought based on how cats and dogs usually behave. that said, Owen (the more bubbly and extroverted of the two) having cats makes me think that he's probably good at respecting boundaries and not overwhelming others. while Tom (the more measured and introverted of the two) liking dogs makes me think that he probably enjoys being around energetic people.

in my completely biased eyes this confirms that:

their characters are not as extreme as they might seem at a very surface level. tom is more energetic and chaotic than he looks (and this is far from a shock once you see a few interviews or bts) and Owen can be more mellow than he lets on

they do well with people whose character sits on the other side of the spectrum

my conclusion is: they're soulmates literally perfect for each other I love their dynamic good for them good for them

Found out that both Tom and Owen are the "middle child" in their families. Is that why they get along like a house on fire despite being diametrically opposite personality-wise lmao

it might be lol but i wouldn't say they're really that different personality-wise! like, on a very surface level sure, posh polite british man vs chaotic cowboy, but i feel like at their core they're much more similar than they let on!

i know i always go back to mbti but that's by far the easiest way for me to understand people, because it helps identify certain patterns in how people's minds work, so i'm sorry if it doesn't make a lot of sense to people that don't know about it!

anyway, tom is an infp and owen is an enfp, which means that they have the same cognitive functions in their stack, just in a slightly different order (tom Fi-Ne-Si-Te, owen Ne-Fi-Te-Si) and basically that means that the way they perceive the world and they way they process what they perceived is pretty similar

i'll try to avoid writing an essay about it lmao so it's a big oversemplification, but for example that means they tend to take in information from the outside in a big-picture kind of way, seeing patterns, brainstorming (Ne) and they tend to make decisions based on their personal values and be very sensitive (Fi).

of course there a lot more to a person than these kind of patterns, but in my experience they play a huge role in how easily two people can get along and understand each other despite possibly having completely different backgrounds

and especially when those backgrounds cause you to be put in a very distinctive box (eg posh polite british man, chaotic cowboy) it can be particularly pleasant and helpful to find someone that sees you and understands you despite being completely different in certain ways, it heps remind you that there's much more to you than what can fit in the box. which is why i am obsessed with the hamlet thing, that shit keeps me up at night <3

This connects, so loosely to the narcissism talks and I don't know if you know about enneagram types so this might be a pointless thing to send anyway but people do be calling Loki a type 8 and they're the same people probably calling him a narcissist and I need to say that's wrONG, THAT S WronG. Loki is the most sensitive type 4 ever, painfully type 4. He's literally that meme 'hey Loki why do you always wear that (type 8) mask' type 4 underneath 'lets keep this on.' if you think Loki is a narcissist and/or a type 8 you have been fooled, tricked and quite possibly bamboozled

i don't know about enneagram as much as I do mbti, but even in my limited knowledge the idea of him being a type 8 is hilarious fhskdhsj gives me the same vibes as people who say he's a tol lmfao

i would bet on 4w3, and I guess maybe the ambition he gets from the wing is what people misinterpret as type 8? or maybe people are just dumb idk that's always an option
