Mindful Awareness
Mindful awareness, or being (or becoming) aware, plays a major role in mindfulness. As mentioned in the previous blog, the point is that by using mindfulness (exercises) you eventually find yourself more in the here and now. That you are more concerned with what is happening in reality now. And what you can perceive with your senses. Walk through the forest and hear the birds chirping. Watching the leaves fall from the trees is a good example.
This may seem very simple. But often during these moments our thoughts are elsewhere and the autopilot is on. You are on autopilot and you are (often) busy with your thoughts. This can be about the future (eg “I still have so much to do today, it's all too much for me”). Or about the past (“I made the wrong choice, if only I had done this or that”). Both can provide stress at a time when there is actually no direct stressor at all (eg you are walking in the woods).
This happens more often than you think. For example, while brushing your teeth, unloading the dishwasher, folding clothes, etc. These are all moments where you can worry when you don't have to. By living it more in the here and now and focusing on what you are really doing, it reduces the time that you are worrying unnecessarily in your head.
There is no such thing as an on and off button for (mindful) awareness. So what's next? Becoming aware of the here and now starts with becoming aware when we are not. In other words, when we go on autopilot.

Try to formulate your goals before choosing a personal trainer. There are personal trainers specialized in losing weight, gaining weight, top sport, etc. Knowing what you want to achieve makes it easier to find a personal trainer that suits you and your goal.
A good personal trainer will always help you set achievable goals and refine your goals during your journey, but it's always wise to think about this for yourself first.
Tip #2 Think about what you like.
Everyone has seen a personal trainer of the 'drill sergeant' type on TV. The trainer who foams at you and yells that you can "go on" while you almost succumb to the stress.
