When discussing Katara vs Percy, there's many things to consider, let's discuss: (NO WEAPONS) (Vote at the end please) (This is just how imagine a fight between them would happen)
Similarities- Heal in water (P-Auto, K-Manual), manipulate water, experience fighting, manipulate other liquids(K-blood/P-poison)
Differences - K can Ice+Mist+Plant+Mud bend, P can quake earth and summon storms. K uses martial arts(for bending but she still has the skills), P main fighting form is swordfighting but he is all about willing the water uno?
This is where I imagine the fight would happen, so they can both use their abilities to their full extent
Before we start, it is important to remember that Percy's had to hand combat isn't that great. He may be from Ney York, but he was bullied. Additionally, Katara has never met someone with so much connection to the sea. The raw power level would be crazy different
But also, they are acc too alike and wouldn't fight if we being real e.g. extreme loyalty to their families/friends, both struggled through life, lived through war, and stopped it. The goals they fight for are even like twins. If they met fr, they'd be an OP duo
Also there'd deffo be banter but I'm not a writer lol
Fight
They'd test each other out at first, to see what the other can do.
I don't think P would really respond to this, as its not only of her sharper cuts of water, he might just let it hit him and feel reinvigorated, i think he'd return the attack with a wave, and K would split it. Atp they know that water won't be the strongest attack, but they don't know each others strengths/weaknesses.
P summons a larger wave to try and overwhelm K. She's a little startled by the sheer strength/size, but she tries to turn it into a water octopus to change the type of attack, gets drenched because of the force from the wave, so settles on Octo-arms instead.
Instead of following the gif, I think she'd used the arms to shoot icicles at P because she saw how he became stronger w water. How about ice? P dodges this easily, projectiles are something he's used to, and he uses it as an opportunity to close the distance between them.
This works for a little bit, but of course, K notices and tries to freeze him in place on the ground because as much as she can keep doing this, she needs some time to get her strength back. Especially since water seems to be healing this guy
P is shocked outta his mind, whaddya mean she just turned water to ice wtf, but he can breath so he's okay, and it's a sunny day, so he won't be frozen for long. He is still able to summon some water, maybe a small stream from the river to him, so he can shimmy out easier while staying unnoticed by K.
Atp I think they'd have a little back and forth about who the other is and what they want, but by the time they get to anything good, Percy is able to shimmy out.
Katara wins this round - onto the next
P sends the first attack this time, he sends a turret blast of water to distract from him charging at K, she is able to redirect it, but P is no longer where he was and suddenly she's on the ground, after her feet have been swept off the ground.
She's dealt with similar things, so she gets back on her feet and does a tai chi move to send P in a diff direction.
As P rolls back, K decides to manipulate the water in the plants and cause the trees to start falling over. So P is running and dodging and has to think because WHY is she moving plants now.
This does, however, remind him of his extra skillset.
Atp, he knows not to summon rain because that's just extra water, so he uses the water to raise himself up and causes a small earthquake, not enough to kill K but enough to cause a deep sinkhole that K falls into. (This but deep enough that she can't just climb out)
K is appalled by this show of strength because where is the connection between waterboy and earthquakes. She's also grateful for the water that's still dripping into the hole because of the lengthy fight, but it'll take a while before there enough for her to do any real damage.
More banter ensues, conversations, and reasons as to why they might be fighting, and coming to the conclusion that it must have something to do with the spirits and/or the gods. P also catches his breath (water) from the extensive task of earthquaking.
Percy wins this round - onto the last
With the water that drips into the sinkhole, K uses her wits and creates mud, which she uses to re-fill the hole while also elevating herself to ground/fighting level
P sees her coming back and prepares himself. The earthquake takes too much energy and would negatively impact him if he does it repeatedly. The water energizes him, though, and he's ready to rejoin the fight.
I imagine K would stick to ice because she might be able to at least cause some damage, so ice disks it is (@natlacentral for the gif)
P is able to dodge, but of course, there's so many in such a short amount of time that one may cut a piece of his hair, nothing lopsided, just a lil snip
This goes on, from ice disks to icicles, P dodges, and redirects but that is not enough, so he calls upon a wave, and he forces the water from himself as well (context "the sea is in you" from tBotL)
It's too draining, but it works. This wave is unlike anything K has seen in person before. It's uprooting trees and forming into this awful mix of true sea rage and nature, a tsunami - perhaps a small one, but one nonetheless.
Before this knocks the both of them out, K is able to wrap some water around her to lessen the damages but regardless they are splayed on the ground, a bit away from the river now, with injuries that they've never experienced before.
Katara wakes up first, coughs up some water, and does some control damage on her wounds, she'll need proper attention later. She decides to help P, and bends the water out his lungs, he wakes up and coughs too. These kids are tired and it's been a
Tie
No one won this fight, but no one lost either. Percy would've died without Katara bending the water out of his lungs because he lost too much strength to do it himself. Katara would've died if she was a few seconds slower in her defensive bending.
After all this, who dyu think would win in a fight?
I like how every single season of she ra makes me change my ships. it really shows how strong the writing is, that they can make the characters so complex, and have such compelling dynamics with each other, that I change my mind every time they want me to
