Took a trip down to Shattered World LARP. It is the biggest LARP game we have here in Perth, it’s a weekend-long game. I managed to spend a day down there taking photos, and these are a couple of the ones I really liked.

Latest event over and a new costume! Meet Rayleigh Duane / Rickon Lavelle (Long Story) a practical in the Kings Service of Othain. A disgraced noble’s son, Rayleigh now serves the cunningly cruel Lector Jasper Von Gravemarck, a service which has recently taken him and a number of his fellow Practicals and some dastardly nightglass company men through a portal into the Nexus, a strange land where age old enemies have returned and the people of Rayleigh’s continent of Dhisolan must fight back or have their homeland fall. Shattered World was an awesome event with so many cool moments. A huge scale for our community, easily topping 100 people. I had great fun playing Rayleigh for a solid three days straight, the Kings Service was a great warband to be a part of/lead and we certainly accomplished our goal of being hard as nails. As for the costume, I’m of two minds. On the one hand it was very ‘practical’, I had no problems hiding, moving or being warm throughout the event. But it still feels lacking. Something for my legs maybe and I was considering a half cloak or something but again, I am unsure. Any ideas tumblr?

LARP Tag! I need your help!
I've been playing in this great Fantasy LARP since it's inception. I love it to bits and I'm close friends with many of the GM's. I really care about the game and seeing it grow. Now I'm looking at retiring my current character in favour of something more 'Roleplay Heavy' since what I play right now is essentially myself in a Canadian accent. I'm excited to play a new character in the world I love so much. However, after mentioning this to the Head-GM I was surprised to instead be offered a position on the GM team. Wow. Ok. I've ran LARPs before. Normally small scale with a very limited team and this is the first time I've been offered a position of something of this size. The game is also at an important tipping point. Our second generation of Player Factions are starting to come forward and the 100 Player game goal looms on the horizon like a hoard of treasure. At the same time I love playing a character. Stepping into this amazing setting and losing myself in the troubles and adventure that LARP offers. Being stuck in the trenches alongside all the other players in fear and confusion at the plot while trying to kill each other is something I love. As well as tired nights around the campfire talking in hushed tones about days passed and days still to come. I know I wont lose all of this, but I know it is vastly different. SO LARP TAG! What should I do?
