Ruins, Rain & Romance Our Wild Day in Cusco
Day 2 in Peru was magic. Olive and I woke up in beautiful Cusco and dove right into the local vibe—starting with Mercado San Blas for handmade sweets and some of the best food we’ve ever had: soup, ají de gallina, and of course, Inca Kola (Olive says it tastes like Guaraná!). But the real adventure kicked in when a hailstorm hit. We found shelter in a tiny store, made friends with puppies, grabbed some beers, and waited it out—romantic and spontaneous. When the skies cleared, we went on an unexpected horseback ride to two ancient Incan sites: a sacred rock that looks like a face, and the mystical Monkey Temple, full of stone carvings. The views? Insane. The day ended with a beautiful sunset, Olive finding a magical tree moment, and a special birthday dinner with Peruvian traditions, dancing in the rain, and… well, you’ll see. This one’s for the books. Hope it gives you the feels too.
