i am gonna *try* to do a solo seder for the first night of pesakh, since i go to my family's on the second night. . . wish me luck!! i definitely procrastinated too close to the sun and am panicking but i think that is a fairly common jewish experience lmao

hopefully i dont burn the house down trying to figure out a pre-existing flame for chag pesakh candles!

Ekhad Mi Yodeah

In my family we have a tradition of singing “Who knows One” in english, in  a very particular tune. 

13 are the ways Hashem is kind,

12 are the tribes of yis-ra-el,

11 are the stars in joseph’s dream,

10 are the commandments!

9 are the months ‘til a baby’s born,

8 are the days til a brit mi lah,

7 are the days of the week.

6 are the books of the (bang table twice) mishnah.

5 are the books of the (bang table twice) torah.

4 are the mommas,

3 are the papas,

2 are the tablets of the law.

One is HaShem, One is HaShem...in the heavens and the earth.

ooh, ah, ooh-ah-ah.

I may or may not record myself singing this, since there’s a lot that didn’t come through in the transcription.

Sam Wilson brings his boyfriend home to meet his parents at the seder. It’s Steve’s first seder, and he doesn’t know anything about the traditions. He asks Sam if there’s a certain way he should sit.

Sam replies, “On your left.”
