BEETLE RACING 🪲
Smashing my head into the wall repeatedly so my beetle knows I'm interested in her hobbies too
I’ve had Ozzy for about a month now and he’s just my favorite little guy. He loves to run around his tank and burrow under his logs. I love him so much 🪲
I MISSPOKE IN THE VIDEO HE'S AN EASTERN HERCULES BEETLE I was just rushing so he wasn't exposed in the cold so much ;a;
but anyways this is Cheese he is a grub who lives in the soil :)
STEPPING ON HER!!
Shoutout to the time Juice got wedged into this weird little gap in this Triceratops skull ornament. We had to VERY VERY GENTLY poke him until he managed to get out on his own, bringing up the question Was He Really Stuck Or Was He Just Being A Bastard. anyways rosie has since chipped off that rim area so it should hypothetically be wedge-proof in the future but I've decided to just. leave it out of the enclosure for now.
Jenny Slug - Male Eastern Hercules Beetle
TIL Kinshi is the process of manually rotting wood shavings by sterilizing it and inoculating it with mushroom spores to make a substrate to hatch and feed the beetle larva from. This is where mushroom growers and pet beetle owners overlap!
It’s a complex because the type of mushroom matters to the beetle and the type of wood matters to both the mushroom and the beetle!
