attention to anyone in the chicagoland area!!!

everyone in Illinois knows it's getting dangerously cold lately. my family & i are seeking to find someone for a very sweet outside cat we named 'drake.' we can't take the little tyke in ourselves as we have two cats & a dog. id be willing to work out expenses wince i can't afford to get the little fur ball all taken care of myself (i.e. shots, getting fixed, ect). drake seems to be in decent health, is super sweet & friendly. tries to dart into our house.

currently our roommate has a little home under the porch for drake, we give the cat food & water as well. but it's getting so so cold. a few friends offered but then backed out of taking drake which is understandable. so if anyone is looking for a cat or can help out id be eternally grateful. i constantly worried & am sad that drake is on their own out there, sometimes not seeing drake for a few days & worrying abt the cat. so yeah anything would help, single boost or spreading it around to friends up here. id be willing to even drive a good distance (maybe two hours max) or meet halfway with drake. even just finding someone to foster would be amazing.

As expected, the pet adoption boom has turned into high shelter returns as people go back to work. As much as I love hearing pets are adopted, they have to be adopted responsibly. IF YOU’RE ADOPTING BECAUSE YOU’RE TEMPORARILY OUT OF WORK, THEN FUCKING FOSTER!!!!!!

June is National Foster a Pet Month, but foster homes are always one of our scarcest resources. We understand why. Foster families open their homes to a hound that isn't theirs, that often doesn't know how to behave in a house, and that might stay just long enough to steal their hearts. If you adopt you, you help one; however, if you foster you help many. Currently, we have about 30 hounds in boarding, awaiting a foster home. Some of them have been waiting for many months. Please consider helping us move them towards a forever home by becoming a foster family.

Fostering offers unique rewards but also comes with some special requirements:

Foster homes need to be near our vets (or foster families willing to travel to them) in the Dallas/Ft. Worth or Albuquerque areas;

Perspective foster families must complete our on-line foster application;

Foster family pets must meet our veterinarian protocol for foster applicants; and

Foster parents must agree to GALT's terms of fostering in a short agreement.

GALT provides veterinary care for the foster hound as well as basic supplies such as a leash, collar and crate if needed. You provide the loving home, food, soft beds and toys. Read all the details and FAQs in our Foster Manual in advance to make sure fostering is a good fit for you and if you have questions, please email our foster coordinator at [email protected]. Anyone in the Portland-metro area willing to foster 2 senior dogs? - related costs paid by owner

So. I know someone who has wound up in a situation where the apartment she moved into with a friend who rents the place month to month no longer allows dogs.

She has 2 large senior dogs, one male and one female who are absolute sweethearts that she needs to rehome. Unfortunately no one we know is able to take them on for various reasons.

Unfortunately one catch is that the male dog, Rex, has some anxiety and aggression issues. Which means he cant be around other pets, children, and men make him nervous. He IS a loving dog who wants nothing more than a belly rub but he also pees when excited (mostly if he doesn't get let outside quick enough in the morning or when someone comes home).

Lily on the other hand is an angel and a diva who just wants to be pampered and both tolerates Rex's excitable tail and never seems to bother him.

It's more difficult to rehome them because of Rex's challenges, their age, and them being a joint pair who we would prefer not to separate.

If anyone in the PDX area would be willing to speak with the owner about having these dogs live with you for an unknown amount of time please message me and I'll see about getting you in contact with her.

We’d really like to avoid having them go to the humaine society because it reduces their chances of staying together and their chances of being reunited with their owner when her situation is better. Please please signal boost this even if you can’t shelter them, maybe someone else can and we have less than a week to try and get them someplace safe to stay

So these are my very special boys who are both rescues off the streets! I love them very, very much which is why I have to stop being selfish and do the right thing by them.

My family is in a bit of a pickle that involves wrongful eviction and probably racism in some way. Anyway thing is we have a new home but the place doesn’t accept ANY pets at all. To make matters even more slightly desperate we have to move out but June 1st! 

Now I need someone to temporarily Foster BOTH my cats together for a while. I’m talking like year or so. So if you really love cats with personality and live in SoCal’s Inglewood, Gardena, or even LA area would you be willing to give these loving boys a home???

I’m totally paying for all their expenses like food, litter, toys, treats, etc. All I need on your part is to love and care for them with regular check ins to be sure they are okay. Cause uhh these cats are like my life yo. 

Pixel: White and Black pretty boy who sleeps a lot. He’s a chill cat that loves two things chili and me in that order. Enjoys chasing things and rubbing against black clothes

Pneuma/8-Bit:Gray and white screaming baby who eats Pixels food. Screams a lot when he thinks you’re not paying attention to him. Probably doesn’t know his name.

Both are super loving and enjoy cuddles soooo much! They are very shy tho and take a bit of time to warm up to new people. Just give them time, space, and food to adjust then they won’t leave you alone. Also good with kids!! Like super good?? Pixel is the best with kids.

So yeah that’s what’s up right now! I’m a little bit in constant distress over this cause I really love my cats a lot and just want what’s best for them
