early gravitation shuichi shindou and eiri yuki are made for each other . theyre both incredibly honest, just in different ways, and they play off of each other so well.

10 things i want to do with my boyfriend:
go on thrifting dates
go ice skating because i suck and i need someone with me
watch 80s movies like 16 candles and pretty in pink together, specifically skipping out on a social event because we’ll be happy anywhere as long as we’re together
play a board game together wearing fuzzy socks and sleeping in the living room with blankets laid out cause it’s like a slumber party
go on midnight adventures (on non-school nights because we love good students in this house)
go to amusement parks and aquariums together because my desire to be a marine biologist needs to be fulfilled
go on midnight drives with 80s new wave playing in the background because my desire to be a free teen in the 80s needs to be fulfilled too
go christmas shopping together, then be all cute and clingy when we need to separate to buy gifts for each other
put up christmas lights together because it’s domestic
have a moment where there’s a lot of people around us, but it only feels like it’s us two in the entire universe
cherry magic posting -- critique/analysis of minato & tsuge's storyline under the cut
i think it's so funny that a majority of the cherry magic fandom selectively ignores tsuge and minato's story line. i completely forgot about them until now.
i think it's because they're just... way less compelling compared to kurosawa and adachi?? like, first of all, tsuge just has negative rizz. admittedly, his speech pattern has the POTENTIAL to be endearing, but it's super awkward because of the giant age gap that he always mentions. he comes off really disconnected
and minato just... does not seem to like tsuge in the same way. sure, he talks to tsuge on a deep emotional level -- like when he told tsuge that he still wishes he could dance -- but he doesn't have fun, everyday conversations with tsuge. and i think those writing those conversations are pivotal if the writer wants the audience to feel like two characters have chemistry.
in contrast, adachi really sees kurosawa's true inner weirdo, and vice versa. that's what i like about the kuroada dynamic.
i’m reading a lot of old school 2000s yaoi right now and. huh. i did NOT expect junjou romantica to start off as actually…… relatively fluffy and sweet and cute?????? both in its aesthetics AND its narrative.
aesthetically, there are a lot of cute animals & other elements of 2000s kawaii culture à la princess jellyfish. it wasn’t at all what i thought it would be — esp. after reading other big name 80s - 90s yaoi like ai no kusabi, tokyo babylon, and haru o dateita, among others
narratively, i’ve only ever seen people portray junjou romantica as the epitome of toxic yaoi. and ch. 1 does have the really uncomfortable assault scene. but at the same time, misaki and usami are also endearingly intimate with each other. usami really tries his best to tutor misaki, and misaki comforts usami after [[That Event]] (trying to avoid plot spoilers here) happens
in general: junjou romantica was an interesting experience — it wasn’t what i thought it would be.
also: does anyone in the junjou romantica tag have any thoughts about why this fandom is so active?? i'm mainly a gravitation stan but . i'm also super intrigued by how engaged y'all are
getting into gravitation through the manga is so bizarre because like. i’m so used to seeing Normal Sized Brown Haired Shuichi that seeing his look change in the later volumes is jarring
i just want a handsome boy to grab my hand when it’s cold, put it in his pocket, and be nonchalant about it.
