22 years was a good long time, but my heart is still broken. It's a curious thing to willingly love these creatures who I am sure to outlive. Still worth it. Always worth it. . . I buried Miss Kitty in a flower pot with teasel + red clover & lupine seeds. . . In the spring I'll make Red Clover Tea from the plants growing on her grave. . . Next summer I'll unearth her & gather her skull back up to come inside. For now she feeds the bugs, worms & seedlings & gets to sit in the sun all day. . . . .
