Day 16 – Your favourite member of Yellowcard.

Favorite member is this guy right here:

It's been, what, five, six years now since he left? And I don't think I ever really got over it. Pete was the bassist that was there when I found them. He was an inspiration for me wanting to play bass (even though I sucked horribly at it). He brought the most to the band musically out of all the other bassists: he did bass, guitar work, he was the piano man, he wrote lyrics with Ryan, and he was a good backing vocalist. While not always the most energetic person at shows, he brought his own presence with him that was impossible to not see.

Which isn't to say that other bassists weren't good. Warren Cooke gave a lot for the early years and even going into their fame with One for the Kids. Alex Lewis brought a tremendous amount of energy with him whenever they were live. And Sean O'Donnell was a fantastic bassist as well as a great person to shoot and edit their videos. But for me, Pete brought an edge with him that Yellowcard never really got back when he left. Even now, though they've been fantastic since their return, it still always feels like something's missing.

I guess I'm still just bummed that I never got to see him live with them. I had a chance a month before he left and I didn't take it, and it just always bummed me out that I never got to.
