This episode of #บุพเพสันนิวาส hit my emotional center harder than I it expected to. And just as oddly, my favorite scenes didn’t include our pair as a unit. It was actually this scene that hit me with as much force as the tragic events that followed, simply because I continue to admire Daed’s transparency and concern. His relationship with his parents is enviable for any grown man and has always been very up front with both his father and mother, even respectfully disagreeing at times. And in this moment when his mother asks about his feelings regarding his impeding marriage my eyes instantly pooled at his answer. For though Phor Daed believes Karakate doesn’t want to marry him (a topic for another post) and is clearly hurt by that fact, he lets his mother know that he’s not worried at all about himself but rather, all of his concern is for Karakate. And being we are dealing with a highly intelligent, pensive hero, I’m positive his concern extends farther than whether she loves him but also includes the mysteries she carries within (and about) herself as a whole. Last episode, he described Katesurang as beautiful because of her thoughts, intentions and heart for people and I can’t help but throw that back at him and say his heart for her is equally so. For, his love for “his” Karakate is the kind that hopes and supports, even in frustration and confusion (like we saw last episode) ultimately doing what he can to put her best interests and desires ahead of his own. He respects and understands her well enough know that whatever she may do or want, comes from goodness and his desire is to preserve that. He’s not perfect but that makes it all the more lovely because his missteps always lead him right back to this sentiment. I foresee shedding a few more tears tomorrow (#PetePol’s #ออเจัาอย has that affect on me) but I also believe these two will step onto the same page soon and enjoy the gift they have of one another. #BuppeSannivas airs Wed-Thurs on #Ch3Thailand.
