A gun, made of gold and silver, turned up at an auction in London. Weapons expert Peter Dale bought this exceptional gun for his collection.

This is certainly a different take on this song, and not in the panic-inducing Pet Shop Boys sort of way.
The National (Athens, GA)
Where do I begin? I honestly cannot believe it's taken me an entire year and a half in Athens before I took advantage of the opportunity to treat myself (more accurately, be treated) to one of THE BEST MEALS I have ever had. The atmosphere is cozy, yet très chic. Staff is extremely friendly, not to mention probably some of the trendiest youngsters found around these parts. Food and drink is Mediterranean-inspired, but The National prides itself in receiving much of its produce from local farmers. Keep in mind that the menu changes almost daily. Chef: Peter Dale Bar: Chris Luken Hugh Acheson, Five & Ten
Let's get to the meal...
First Course:
Pizzette (mini-pizza, 4 slices; caramelized spring Vidalias, gorgonzola, pecans, arugula, balsamic) - "MELT-IN-YOUR-MOUTH" good - the creamy freshness of the gorgonzola accentuates the tangy quality of the balsamic - and let's be honest, everything tastes better with pecans
Patatas Bravas (topped with a spicy tomato sauce and aioli) - these could quite possibly replace Waffle House for "best hashbrown" title - the acidity/spice of the tomato sauce perfectly complements the aioli - WARNING: it's frighteningly easy to keep munching on these--REFRAIN, it's still hors d'oeuvres!
Second Course:
Vegetable Plate (couscous w/ pomegranate, lima bean hummus, sugar snaps w/ ginger, fried cauliflower w/ harissa and feta, cabbage and apple slaw) - an incredibly creative spin on mundane vegetables - beautiful presentation - there were certainly flavors my palette was not used to, but I would highly recommend this dish
Alaskan Cod (wrapped in Serrano ham, topped with a thousand-island-like sauce, over a bed of black rice and pan-seared brussel sprouts) - Ham and fish, two meats I probably would have never put together... - Probably one of the best combination of flavors I've ever experienced - fish was perfectly white and incredibly flakey - saltiness of ham and brussel sprouts complemented the delicateness of the cod - perfect portion, HIGHLY recommend
Third Course:
Brownie, White Chocolate Blondie (vanilla ice cream, blood orange) - typical dessert turned fabulous - not your typical "fudge-esque" brownie, but more cookie-like in texture - blood orange is the perfect fruit addition- both in taste and color
Drink -Rex Hill 2007 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir -House-made limeade, pomegranate syrup, soda (think Sonic with some spunk)
