(image from discogs)
Music from the way back long ago (1982)
Something possessed me - an image of you my love Video visions that play on my mind Nobody blessed me with power to reach my love One cheap illusion can still be divine And nobody believes in this new religion Yes nobody believes - cause nobody sees-nobody sees These images of heaven that take me to hell Images of heaven - or something for sale

PETER GODWIN - “BABY’S IN THE MOUNTAINS”
“Heartbreak in the mountains, baby!” Something of a club hit in the US, this sound is just irresistible to me--slinky, sexy, and totally 80s, with a cutting synth groove and a forlorn, ominous narrative, in which our narrator’s beloved has gone off on an extremely monogamous vacation without him. I suppose there aren’t too many songs in which the romantic locale of choice is the mountains and not, I dunno, a beach or something...but with a hook like that, who really cares?
