IPSY October ‘15 bag review!
Hi guys! It’s that time of month again, and my ipsy glam bag for October is here. I love fall, because I get to get away with all my grungy makeup without being called out as too “gothic.” You don’t want to know how many times I’ve worn a plum or deep red lip since mid-September. It’s almost embarrassing. Almost.
Anyway, I’ve got some good stuff to review in this bag of mine. Here goes.
MICA Beauty Cosmetics Cream Eyeshadow in Bronze: Okay, this is my favorite product in the whole lineup. As soon as I did a quick swatch on my hand I was hooked. I went to their website to see what kinds of other colors they had and cursed myself for not having hundreds of dollars to blow on these amazing things. They’ve also got great staying power. The normal price is $14.95 and worth every penny.
Peter Lamas Exfoliating Pumpkin Facial Scrub: First of all, pumpkin. Need I say more? In case I do, this stuff is really great. Especially if you wanna smell like a pumpkin pie. Side effects may include, but are not limited to: craving a pumpkin spice latte from starbucks because you’re a super basic bitch, wanting to eat your own face (kind of like that infamous bath salts incident in Florida), and cursing yourself for not having a pumpkin pie in the house right this second. It’s great if you just put it on while taking a shower and wash it off right after, otherwise it can get your hands a little sticky. Really great for applying in the morning about 15 minutes before applying makeup, or at night to clean your face after removing makeup (or both, I’m not stopping you from living your life).
eva-nye Therapy Session Hair Mask: It’s a pretty small (0.7fl.oz/20mL) tube of hair product that can be used either weekly, or daily as a conditioner. Unless you plan on buying the full size version, I suggest going the weekly route unless you have really damaged hair. It’s especially nice if you apply it weekly after applying and rinsing out your usual conditioner. Just gives your hair that extra oomph, y’know? Personally though, I;m not sure I’d buy the full sized version just because I have so many hair products already. It’s ok, though.
The Balm’s Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick Meet Matt(e) Hughes in Committed: Loooove. It. I’m a sucker for matte lipsticks, I’ll admit. Apply a lip balm under them and you can rock that shit even with dry lips. I’m ALL about that matte lip life. The color is a sort of subdued nudeish dark salmon ish pink. It’s not drying at all, which of course means it doesn’t straight up stick to the lips like some do. But with matte lip stain comes great sacrifice. Either you get very moist matte lips and have to reapply a couple times a day, or super dry matte lips that stay on all day. It’s a give and take. The struggle is real. Oh, also this stuff smells like peppermint had a lovechild with vanilla. Go buy it. The tube they give you is too small.
Emite Make Up Tweezers: It’s been 20 minutes and I still can’t get the product out. I want to like it, but I can’t test it, because to be quite blunt, the packaging is terrible.
So yeah, all in all a pretty good haul for the month. My favorites are the Mica Beauty Cosmetics Cream eyeshadow in Bronze, and The Balm’s Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick. I’m gonna do a look tomorrow using those two, so be sure to check back for more! As always, thanks for reading, and toodles!

Peter Lamas Spa Sensuals Rejuvenating Hand Scrub & Intensive Repair Hand Cream
Y’all, my nails hate me right now. Currently I’m doing 2 major home improvement projects. I took the wallpaper down in my bathroom (that was fun) and I’m updating the cabinets in my kitchen. Which of course meant taking everything out of the cabinets. To say the least my nails and cuticles are SUFFERING.
So, I’ve been trying to give my hands and cuticles a little extra TLC. The Peter Lamas Spa…
