Some baby Peter Pan squash
I close up shot of what the Peter Pans look like as they grow on their plant. You can see all the pokey spines I have to deal with when I come into contact with these plants. My skin is just wussy so you’ll often find me ouching all over the backyard when I look for what needs to be cut despite wearing work gloves. The spines are mostly harmless and dissolve quickly if you do get one in your skin.
The first harvest! The Peter Pans have been more productive than the Italians this year, but only because they were much younger than the Peter Pans when we bought them. These are actually my favorite of the squash we’ve tried so far.
