they meet at a little bar when balth is playing there in wellington (and it’s the same bar where balth started his career but that’s bESIDES THE POINT)

balth just. sits at the bar all normal-like after his set like he’s not lowkey famous ‘round there??? and he sits next to peter who starts internally freaking out

generally peter makes a Fool of himself but balth ends up going home w/ him and peter is just screaming internally

in the morning balth sees that peter has all of his cd’s and everything and is like. you pretended? not to know who i was?????

and peter, still screaming, tries to laugh it off and play it cool like ‘nahhh they’re. my roommates’ or smthg but he pretty clearly lives in a one-room apartment (he’d tried the roommate thing with ben & freddie in uni and it hadn’t really. worked out well)

balth thinks it’s sweet and they set up a Proper Date for later

You know when you're like really psyched to be around someone all the time and when they smile you feel happy by association and you just feel really warm when you think about them?
