can you tell me a little bit more about petite jesters? markings, personality, care, etc. i fell in love with them after seeing a few pictures, but i haven't been able to find any concise information
Yes, of course! This is going to be long, so I’ll put it under a cut.
This is a batch of Petite jesters. As you can see, they all have the same marking; the Dazzle Marking(those shimmery spots, not to be confused with the Spotted/Petite mixes, who have non-shimmering and much more colorful spots typically).
The Marti Gras markings are shown above, having three solid colors.
This one has the Glassy Marking, having a shinier body than most.
This small friend has the Masked Marking, and the Solid Marking, as shown by the simplistic body.
Petite tend to be easier to care for than the rest of the jesters; While they still need a large space, they can settle for slightly smaller places, but not by much. Along with this, they don’t need to be fed as much, as their small bodies can only hold so much in them.
However, you need to provide ways for them to reach higher things for them to do their pranks! Otherwise, they will become very stressed and feel like they’re not doing enough.
They tend to be a calmer type, but not nearly as calm as the Spotted. They don’t start many fights and tend to be less aggressive, as their small size puts them at a disadvantage; However, if you anger them, they do have very sharp teeth that are capable of ‘shattering’ in your skin! Take care to make sure they’re never that upset, and if they bite you, be careful to gently ease them off!
Their teeth will grow back, but repeated loss should be something to worry about, especially if they’re being aggressive for no reason; You may be lacking something they need.
