She didn't look up from the menu as he slipped into Japanese. She could still understand, admittedly not as well as she understood common, but could get the basics. She really ought to be better at knowing one of her own native tongues, common was just something she used so much more.

"I'm not too hungry so just egg rolls for me please."

She asked back subconsciously slipping back into common. Shit. As she handed over the menu she shook her head taking the glass in front of her.

"You know it's sorta sad how my default is the universal one. I can barely understand what my father says when he slips into english."
