Just a short walk from the last bus stop at the end of #Petrzalka, almost at the #border with #Austria, there is this place, full of #memories that shouldn’t be #forgotten. #Military #cemetery that became the final resting place for 331 #soldiers from the #WWI. #Grave of one of their #generals, Franz Cvrček Von Mielec, who is supposedly visiting his soldiers in the cemetery around midnight. Right next to the cemetery is a #bunker from the #WWII. One of the few that made up our defensive line. Still standing, taken care of, used to show the not so pretty part of our #history. #Antitank #trench, lots of #barbedwire, even an example how borders looked like back then. Including photos of people who tried to cross the border without permission. The saddest thing I've learned today was, that there was a #concentration #camp in Petržalka - #massgrave with about 500 #people have been found near Petržalka cemetery... And I didn't actually manage to get inside the bunker - so I am definitely coming back soon. #ghostsofthepast #war #violence #bunkerbs8 (na mieste Bratislava, Slovakia)
