Also know as Miles finally learns how to get Babyz(a spin off game from Petz) to work after not getting it to work for a year
So for the longest time I’ve been wanting to play this game but holding it off due to other things. I’ve mentioned in a past post that everything works but it wouldn’t accept a code I wanted to use leading to a long loading that pretty much meant it crashed & I needed to bring up task manager. Other times if I left the game without putting anything in it’d make it so I had to restart the computer. I also had trouble installing petza cause it couldn’t find the game while I was installing petza.
Turns out I’m an idiot, it’d be helpful if I had a guide still but it was so simple that I feel stupid for not trying sooner.
It’s a little embarrassing to talk about but it might come in handy. I often learn on my own but I still have trouble & might need help later.
So leave the file for the baby that comes with your copy of the game in the when you start it up. That’s my fault, I removed it before starting the game cause I wanted to put in a code I found elsewhere. I thought the code didn’t work but from what little I understand the file for the baby was needed as a kind of activation code or something.(Or just needed an baby file)
Here’s the baby I got from the file. I dressed her up at some point, I kind of screenshot this at a bad moment cause she was starting to smile a second after the screenshot.
As for Petza... Just select the final row. I feel stupid still about this but Petza has three selections, I tried the first & gave up when I repeatedly failed to get it see Babys. I have idea how but around the time I finally got Babyz to work I some decided I should just select the final select section. It finally saw the shortcut or whatever it’s called to start up Babyz.
Maybe there was a mess up(I want to mention I had the version of Petza that was considered the most recent update on the site), I dunno but for like a year after giving up the first time I thought despite everything it only recognized the petz games.
This was all really simple to do after I found out what I was doing but without anyone to tell me what was going on I probably would have given up or tried to see if I could do something on a Virtual Machine.
Others will likely have an easier time but I feel awkward admitting I needed to make this post to show how much trouble I was having but also be a reminder for me later on on what to do when it’s not working.
Now I just need to learn how to hex babies & see if it’s safe to remove the baby file if I have another baby file setup.(Don’t exactly want to have multiple babies but might have some around from time to time if I try more hexing later on)
Maybe see about the mic working in the game. The message board Milk is a good place for a lot of stuff, I don’t feel ready enough to make an account on there.(They have a 14 day limit for inactivity but I often distracted & don’t fully know what to do on a message board) I think I was going to ask for help(they allow guest messages on threads) but I’m easily distracted & have my hands tied with other projects.
At least I got Babyz & petza to work, I still got some stuff to work on but that can be dealt with later on.
