Part 2: A Touch of Magic
After the wardrobe was set up, you put your clothes away, but you couldn't shake the feeling that something was trying to pull you into it. The feeling didn't leave you for the next few days, but you shook it off until one night.
One night, when the nightmares tormented you, you awoke with a start. Cold sweat ran down your forehead. Strands of your hair stuck to your face, and tears streamed down your cheeks. Your breathing was rapid, and slowly, a soft sob escaped your lips. Of all your nightmares, this was by far the worst you had ever experienced.
Everything was peaceful. You and the Pevensie siblings roamed through colorful forests, through cool waters, and ran across the warm sand on the beach with a lion watching you with a gentle gaze. In the blink of an eye, there was chaos, blood, and screams of despair. In all the chaos, you tried to find your friends until your eyes fell on something red: blood. You followed the trail of blood; the smell of iron, fire, and ash hung in the air. Your stomach lurched at the thought of who the blood could belong to. And then you saw three people in a pile of blood. Peter, Edmund, and Lucy lay dead before you, blank stares, blood running from their eyes and mouths, and open wounds. A cry of fear escaped your lips as you sank to your knees, crying, and tried to shake him awake. "Wake up, they won't come back," Susan's endless voice broke through. "What?" As soon as you looked at Susan, you noticed those cold eyes that seemed to pierce through you. "Wake up and move on, they won't come back, nor will they ever think of you. You mean nothing to them or to me."
Tears didn't stop flowing as you stared into the darkness of your room. Your window was open, and a cold breeze brushed your heated body. Just as you had recovered, your gaze fell on your wardrobe, the decorations in the wood that looked like fairytales, and in the middle of it, a lion was carved into the wood. Then you looked more closely at the doors, and then it happened.
Slowly, very slowly, the wardrobe doors opened, and a warm breeze met you, giving you a warm feeling. Without realizing it, your body moved toward the wardrobe on its own, your legs felt light, the nightgown made you feel wrapped and protected. Your feet hit the floor of the closet, and you felt your feet touching you as you made your way further through the closet. Just when you thought you were reaching the closet wall, your bare feet touched soft grass. The further you went, the more you could see. Beautiful landscapes like those found in fairytale books stretched before your eyes, and further away, you saw a castle stretching into the distance.
The further you walked, the more magical it became, and suddenly you heard a voice call, "An Eve's daughter." When you turned around, you saw a horse standing in front of you. Confusion was written all over your face. Had the horse just spoken?
But then the horse spoke again, this time in a gentle voice. "I am Philip, the horse of King Edmund the Just, and who are you, Eve's daughter?" When you recovered from the shock, you straightened your posture and told the horse your name and the reason you were here. Philip looked at you with wide eyes, but before he could answer, you heard the voice of a boy you last saw a long time ago.
Edmund discovers something new in Narnia. Or is it new? Lucy seems to be just unimpressed.

Edmund remembers the day so vividly.
Susan had just been berating him about his king-ly duties. Almost demanding him to finish them. If Edmund's being honest, he would say she probably was. And he was growing sick — annoyed, actually — at Susan’s constant reminders. And it’s not like he doesn’t even finish them on time. He simply has his own pace.
He was getting close to snapping at his older sister, and from what his brain allows him to remember — snapping at now Queen Susan was worse than Finchley Susan.
So he simply scoffed, standing up from his seat, heading out of the castle — desperate for some fresh air.
With his satchel with him, he decided to walk around town. Greeting Narnians here and there, occasionally stopping by stands to feed his own curiosity. He even remembers picking up another book, one he now keeps on his nightstand to read when he can’t go to bed.
What had been so significant about the day was stumbling onto something — someone, rather — who he swears he had not met before.
“Oh! I sincerely apologise your majesty. I wasn’t looking where I was going. Although, I am in a rush so... I’ll see you around!”
The moment was too quick for Edmund to register. Only a couple moments after did he realise the voice that had just spoken to him. Accent almost too familiar to just be Narnian. He whipped his head around, watching as the same person rushes through the busy workings of the town, impressively dodging obstacles along their way.
Now on present day, his attempts at convincing his siblings that there is a new citizen in town are going nowhere. Peter seems to have just started ignoring him, Susan the same, and Lucy… Lucy is just unimpressed.
“Have you really just met the healing mage, Ed? Really?”
“I swear Lu she’s— wait, healing mage?”
Lucy sighs, looking at Susan for back up. The older girl only shrugs, leaving her to herself and when she looked at Peter, the man was already chuckling.
Edmund observes the exchange happening before him, confusion clouding his mind.
“Can someone just catch me up on what’s going on? Please?” he practically begs.
“That’s Y/N you’re talking about, you ignorant idiot. And she’s not new. She moved here — appeared rather, a few months ago when you were out for diplomacy. I guess you really just haven’t bumped into her before.”
“What do you mean appeared? Is she a daughter of Eve to—”
“I think that’s a question for you to ask her Edmund. It seems you have been ignoring the sole person keeping Narnians healthy.”
The next day, Edmund woke up early to deliver a basket of herbs. It was meant to be Lucy’s job, one that she personally does every week and the same job Edmund questioned but never asked about. Well, now he’s about to get his answers and Lucy argues it’s an excuse for him to finally meet the mage.
He follows the path with white lilies per Lucy’s instructions.
“Y/N loves lilies, especially white ones.” She had added.
As soon as he felt that he was getting lost, a small cottage appears just a few more lilies away.
He had to pause in his step. It was quaint, the cottage looking like it was out of a fairy-tale the way nature surrounded it. Not that Edmund can say that anymore, the way he and his siblings made it to Narnia proved too good to be true at first.
His admiration was cut short when he heard the door swinging open, revealing no one else but the same person he had bumped into the day before. Only this time, Edmund can see her clearly and she is no longer in a rush. He continued watching, his presence seemed to be unknown as Y/N continued fussing around her front garden. Her mouth was moving, seemingly talking to the greenery.
Edmund takes a step forward, slowly making out the words coming out of her mouth as he gets closer.
“Come on Thistle! We haven’t got all day! And Lokas, please tell me that’s not a ruby in your hand?! Oh please, I already told you—”
“Hello!”
The young girl’s erratic dialogue came to a stop. Her body looking like it froze in place as she gawks at Edmund. The creatures below her were no different. Edmund had just realised she was surrounded by not only nature, but creatures alike — faeries and pixies, gnomes of almost all ages, and pixies.
She blinks. Once. Twice.
Finally gaining her senses back, she straightens herself up and smiles. “Good morning, your majesty! I wasn’t expecting you today.”
Edmund could only smile, raising the basket he still had in his hold. “Neither did I. Unfortunately, Lucy had some emergency duties to run this morning so I offered to do her plant delivery.”
“Oh! That’s very thoughtful of you your majesty, but you shouldn’t have. I would’ve picked it up myself at the castle anyway.”
She had now gotten closer, leaving her front gate open as she accepts the basket from Edmund, a sudden gasp escaping her lips as she does so. “Oh! Where are my manners. I’m Y/N, your majesty. I should’ve done that sooner.”
“Consider us two even. After-all, I am the one here only just hearing about you and your job as the kingdom’s healer.”
Y/N laughs. “And oh, please, just call me Edmund.”
“Is that the king I see again?”
The faery’s question had Y/N looking up from her cauldron, confused. After making sure her current concoction was not going to blow up anytime soon, she pats her hands dry on her apron as she makes her way to the same table where Thistle was currently hovering. Her brows furrow as she makes out Edmund walking towards her cottage.
“It sure is Thistle. I wonder what he’s here for.”
She exits her own home, a smile – although a bit sceptical — forming on her face. Edmund smiles back, walk turning into a slight jog as he gets closer. “I didn’t think you’d be back so soon, Edmund. I hope everything’s alright at the castle.”
Worry replaces her confusion. The only reason a member of the castle, the king rather, would personally pay her a visit would be because something had gone wrong and they needed her help. “Oh! Don’t worry. Everything is well in shape. I was just… bored. Yeah, bored.”
Y/N nods, sensing the growing nervousness of the young king.
“Bored, you say?”
“Yes.”
“And you decided to come here?”
“Yes.”
Is it bad to tease your royal highnesses a bit?
“To my small cottage?”
Surely not.
“Yes…”
“Where you could have easily done, I don’t know — fencing or riding on your horse. You know, like what other kings do?”
“Yes…?”
Her smile turns into a smirk, finding amusement in the way Edmund began questioning his own answers. She chuckles, allowing Edmund to relax — a nervous laugh escaping himself. “I’m only teasing. Would you like to come in, Edmund?”
⇢ your entire relationship will be based on how and when you meet. the same is true with practically everyone ever, of course the conditions of a meeting will affect how a relationship grows. however, this is especially true with edmund.
⇢ as his siblings can still strongly remember, he was nothing short of “a selfish idiot” back when they first fell into narnia.
⇢ if you meet him during that time, it’ll take quite a long time for you to warm up to him, if that even ever happens. depending on your own personality, it wouldn’t be too surprising if you never forgave him for how rude he was to you and the people around you.
⇢ if you met him a bit later, maybe on his second time returning to narnia, you’d be more likely to not hate him.
⇢ no matter when you meet him, it will definitely take some time for him to treat you well. he’ll mess up very often but as those mistakes get further and further apart in occasion, you can tell he’s gotten to know you much better and is putting in effort.

Its been nine years since the battle against Jadis, its absolutely amazing how fast our time in Narnia has gone. We’ve learned so much in out time here, Peter, the girls and I have surprisingly not been ruling horribly as Kings and Queens. Today it was decided that we shall go on a stroll through the forest and the girls have insisted we don’t look for the white stag today and to be frank I agreed with them. We’ve been looking for the stag for weeks and I feel that we do need some, fresh air for lack of a better word. I’m not sure why but I have this strange feeling of danger in my stomach about this and I’m unsure why. I however am certain of one thing, We might discover something today.
Prompt: Edmund and the reader star gazing while secretly looking at each other.
I walked shoeless, into the damp grass, side by side with my best friend, Edmund Pevensie. I closed my eyes, breathing in the fresh air. Of course, with my eyes closed, it was harder to find my way through the grass, and I ended up tripping.
Edmund’s joyous laugh rang through the air, shattering the silence. My cheeks turned red with embarrassment and I bumped him slightly with shoulder. “Shut up.” I said, starting to laugh myself.
“I think we should stop here.” He said, laying down in the grass.
I laid down as well, sighing in contentment, the cool grass tickling my skin. “The stars are so beautiful.”
Without your noticing, Edmund looked over, whispering, “yes, they are.”
having her around? edmund knows for sure he’ll be alright.

a/n: got me giggling while i was writing lmao 😭
“It’s not fair.”
Y/N furrowed her eyebrows in confusion as her best friend plopped himself flat on her bed.
Her parents had let her stay with the Pevensie’s at a professor’s house for shelter — who would have thought they would end up being leaders of a kingdom.
She had been crowned Queen Y/N the Eloquent. Her ever so good skills in speaking benefited their home like no other. They had fixed so many conflicts without drawing out blood with her help, the siblings wondered what they would have done if Edmund didn’t accidentally smack her in the head back when they were 4.
“What is it this time Eds?” she sighed, leaving the stack of books she was carrying from her own personal library to sit down next to Edmund’s body.
“It’s just Peter— and Susan— not to mention Lucy. Why is it always me! Why not y— them this time?! As if I can’t do anything like that. It's just I need time—“
“Eds! Edmund! Breath, please” she pleaded, concerned at the speed the words were coming out of his mouth. Edmund only remained quiet, his face flat on her bed. She sighed, standing up from her position, she — lightly — hit Edmund on the shoulder.
“Sit up!” she hissed.
Another hit.
“Sit up, you twat!”
The insult had the boy standing up in an instant, shooting daggers at the smile Y/N was playfully displaying. “Who’re you calling a twat?”. Edmund sounded offended, Y/N knew him too well that the question had an action behind it for her to fall for. “No one. Well… someone with the last name Pevensie…”
“Peter, then?”
“No,” she dismissed, shaking her head jokingly. “More like Edmund—“ she shrieked his name in surprise. He had been quick, reaching towards her in seconds — his long arms wrapped around her waist as his fingers dug to her sides.
“Edmund! Stop—“ she could barely get the words out, her laughs drowning the whole room. Edmund laughed at the attempt, tightening his hold. “I suggest you take back your words, my lady. Or you’ll be trapped forever!” Edmund announced between his own chuckles.
“Never!”
Their laughs only got louder. The sound escaping the room. Two fauns just happened to pass Y/N’s closed bedroom door, the two looking at each other knowingly. “I am really having a hard time believing that those two will always be best friends.” One said to the other.
“Hopefully, one of them will gain some courage. Who knows, maybe we’ll get Narnia’s first prince in three years' time.” The other replied.
The two laughed, knowing the prediction is highly unlikely — but not impossible.
Back inside, Edmund had stopped. His arms still around her waist as the two took a moment to catch their breaths. Y/N had rested her head against his chest, the rhythm of his heartbeat instantly calming her down.
Edmund watched in adoration at Y/N allowing herself to rest against him. Despite knowing each other for more than a decade — maybe even more — he still doesn’t believe someone as delicate as the girl in front of him trusts him enough to do so.
Maybe in the future he’ll finally tell her what he found so unfair. Why his siblings would continuously pester him about his buried feelings when they too had them one way or another.
For now, having Y/N allow him to wrap his arms around her, it’s enough. Knowing she confides in him as he does to her, it’s enough.
Having her around, she’s enough.
thank you sm for reaching the end. i appreciate it a lot. feel free to tell me what you <3 constructive criticism is highly valued. also accepting prompts or requests atm. love u lots xoxo

a/n: i kind of hate how this ended i’m really sorry 😭 i could not (for the life me) find a way to end it differently. i also added my own twist towards the request i hope that’s alright. also a part of this i kind of stole from game of thrones ...... it was the first thing that came to mind
“Your majesty, when was the last time you bled?”
She knew what the faun was implying. How she didn't notice herself? She didn't know.
It wasn't like her and Edmund weren't trying — she just didn't expect it to happen so soon. They had spoken about the topic before, a month after their wedding. They had both agreed they’ll just let it happen, whether it was in under a year after or 10. “We have been together for 5 years, have known you for 10. It’s you that I have the most trust on becoming a mother.”
She knew she loved him even more that night.
One rusted needle later proved her assumptions. The two lovely fauns who stayed with her through the whole process were jumping in glee, hugging her as the three had huge smiles on their faces.
"Oh, congratulations your majesty," one of them said, a hand on their chest.
Her happiness was quick to be replaced with worry when she thought about her husband. Edmund.
Oh Edmund.
From all palace duties he could have left the kingdom for, it had to happen when he was gone.
She had to kindly ask the fauns to not spread the message beforehand and she silently thanked Aslan for when the fauns agreed, knowing how important it was for Edmund to know before the whole kingdom did. The fauns later left her to herself, giving her another congratulations as they exited the room.
Y/N started racking her brain for any piece of information Edmund had told her before he had left. Anything to tell her when he'll come back. She started to panic when she realised Edmund had said nothing. It also had to be one of those trips.
She quickly relaxed herself, remembering the words of her mother when she was pregnant with her younger sister that stress and anxiety can affect the baby. Her hand came up to her belly where she could suddenly feel a small bump. "I hope you dad comes home soon, my love. He'll be delighted to meet you," she whispered.
She later found herself in Susan's study.
The older girl looked up from the stack of paper she was reading, her eyes welcoming as she took notice of the younger girl that she had grown fond of. “Y/N are you alright?,” she asked, putting down her quill as she realised the fidgety movements of Y/N.
“Do you know when Edmund will be back?”
Susan pursed her lips. She sympathetically shook her head as a no.
“Susan I—“
She stopped herself.
Her eyes began to water. A lump had formed in her throat. She tried to blink away the tears, but Susan had already noticed. “Oh Y/N…”
Susan stood up from her seat to hug the crying girl. She whispered gentle reassurance to her ear. The two stood in silence, nothing but Y/N’s quiet hiccups can be heard. “I’m pregnant.”
She attempted to whisper — but at that moment, it was all Susan could hear. She only hugged Y/N tighter, resting her chin above her head. “You’re going to be just fine.”
After Y/N had calmed down that day, the two took it upon themselves to go to the palace library and gather every information they could get to help her. Susan’s knowledge from where she used to live in England could only help them so much. Later on, Y/N had to tell Lucy. The young girl already had a great intuition, so she was bound to find out herself even if Y/N didn’t tell her.
Soon after, Susan walked in the palace with a woman behind her. She looked lovely and sweet, her smile so warm and comforting, and her bouncy short hair just added to her lovely aura. “Y/N, this is Mary. She’s a midwife and… if you let her, she’ll happily help you.”
Y/N had hugged that woman so tight that day.
The whole kingdom was still yet to know about the young queen’s pregnancy. No one but the palace knew. The young girls of the monarchy had tried to keep it a secret from them, but her layered clothing was too warm for herself to even try and cover the bump and the bump itself was just growing. “Y/N you don’t have to tell them if you don’t want to,” Susan had tried to reassure her, but she just shook her head, a small smile plastered on her face. “Having a healthy baby is more than enough for me.”
The palace that day celebrated in happiness upon the announcement of the new baby.
She only wished Edmund was with her.
Where was he?
A month later, Peter arrived back from his own trip. She had wished it was Edmund, but she was just glad her brother-in-law had come back in one shape. His eyes practically bulged in excitement upon seeing Y/N with a bump.
He rushed forward, helping Y/N off her chair as she stood up to greet him. “Congratulations!” he muttered as they hugged. The question the king said next had her eyebrows furrowing. “How about Ed?”.
“What do you mean?”
The look on Y/N and her question had answered Peter’s question.
Y/N was five months along.
The midwife — Beth — had told her when she first felt movement. “It’s the baby kicking dear. He or she seems to be excited about you.”
Beth’s words had instantly calmed down Y/N’s anxiety. A teary smile formed on her face as she felt more movement when she placed her palm. By now, her belly was really showing. She had to reside walking around the palace behind closed gates to avoid letting the rest of the Narnians see. And Edmund. Edmund still hasn’t come back.
They had sent him a letter about everything that’s going on, one he didn’t reply back to yet.
Y/N assumed it had something to do with how the letter was sent and convinced herself that her husband was alright. “Please come home, Edmund.” She felt a kick on her hand when she muttered out his name, a smile forming on her face. “Oh you already like him, huh?”
Another kick.
“Just you wait ‘till we meet him, love. Then he’ll be all over you.”
Her prayers were answered when one evening the trumpets played. The sound booming around the palace. “Woah, Y/N slow down!” Peter teased, standing up from his own seat at the dining table to help the pregnant woman.
“I’m very pregnant you twat! This is already slow!”
Peter laughed at her remark. The two were always on each other’s necks, although most of the time it was out of humour. Peter had only hoped her pregnant self could also sense it.
Lucy giggled from her place, moving around the table to go to Y/N’s other side. “Give her a break, Peter,” Lucy sighed, sticking herself to Y/N when the older girl opened her right arm for her. “At Least someone’s on my side,” she smirked, looking at Peter. She felt movement within her, her face scrunching up. This caused Peter and Lucy to stop, waiting for her to say something. “I’m alright. It seems the little one wants you to know that she’s also on my side.”
The three made their way to the entrance where Susan was already chastising Edmund for worrying everyone — her tight hug on her little brother gave a different message though.
Susan’s eyes flickered towards the back of Edmund’s shoulder, the action not going unnoticed by the young man. Susan motioned for him to turn around. Edmund was met with the faces of his two other siblings and his wife. His attention focused on the latter.
“I came back as soon as I got your letter. I had to see you for myself.”
The couple caught themselves in a warm embrace, the action a bit different this time. “You’re here,” Y/N whispered. Edmund smiled, plastering a kiss on top of her head. “I am here. With you.”
Back in their bedroom, Edmund couldn’t help himself but follow his wife around like a lost puppy. At last, she sat down, bringing Edmund with him. “She has been doing well. Susan asked the help of Beth. She’s a midwife, a good one too,” she informed him. “Kicking a lot too, here—” she took Edmund’s hand and placed it on her belly, where just as she said, the little one began kicking non-stop. The smile on Edmund’s face was priceless, she couldn’t help but give him a kiss on the cheek. “I’m sorry I wasn’t there for the first few months. Must have been horrible for you,” Edmund mumbled, looking at his wife’s eyes with nothing but love. Y/N shrugged her shoulder, resting her head against Edmund’s shoulder. “You’re here now. And that matters more to me…”
It was silent for a moment.
“She?”
Y/N removed herself from Edmund’s shoulder, a look of bewilderment across her face. “What the hell are you talking about?”
Edmund smirked. “Earlier, you referred to the baby as she. You think it’s going to be a girl?”
“I don’t think. I know she’s going to be a girl.”
Edmund chuckled, bringing his wife back in his arms. “Let’s see about that, my love.” He said as he brought themselves in to a kiss.
thanks for staying till the end. i high appreciate it. xoxo
