based off of voidpineapple​ ‘s post about roleswap stuff and i couldn’t help myself on making my own spin on it ehe (but the idea originated from void! please go to her)

the context is that mario, who’s the bad guy in this, wants to recruit / use the ol captain into his bidding and turn him into origami. then they have a battle! ode’s gimmick is that, well, it’s a water fight. it’s difficult and mario shouldn’t touch the water. something like that!

and whatever happens next is up to you. because why not

i really hope this looks like the beginning of a battle pfff ,, everyday i frown at my own art sigh

okay. ill be honest. looking back. i wished i wrote down my thoughts while drawing them because i only remember basic iceberg stuff, i went deep into brainrot bro haha

basically. paper gooigi anyone? reoccurring villain anyone? mans is sent to hunt down the origami siblings and their legion so their cause can be stronger! because 1) theyre the children of the funny old 1-up magic man 2) they are ORIGAMI. could easily help and blend in! 

idk. there were more deep reasons but i didnt write down stuff so bare with me here

old funny 1-up shroom dad is the damsel in distress, they keep him cause he has knowledge of some illegal origami prowess stuff. they COULD force him and turn him into an origami but for some reason it just dont work on the old man idk why. how did they get here? hell if i can remember aaaa

then los partner shenanigans.

makes me realise that stapler is the only one who’d be efficient in gathering toads for the battle arena thing (you know how you save toads and they all cheer for you in the battle spinning thing? kind of like that) because stapler in the game is the main lynchpin for holding the paper peeps as origami. everyone else would be very destructive and / or restrictive.

stapler can undo it! maybe! depends. olly n olivia might do a little magic here and there to help. ehe

in short. its a very fun au to think about and i love it. and now i dip for another week as i brainrot in silence
