Kıtasal kongre, Randolph başkanlığındaki ikinci toplantısında Britanya’nın kolonilerine savaş ilan ettiğini söyledi ve karşılık olarak kıta ordusunu kurdu, Georger Washington’u da başkomutan yaptı.

Georger Washington 30 Nisan 1789’da bağımsız Amerika Birleşk Devletleri’nin başkanı olarak yemin edip göreve başlayana kadar , Randolph’un yerine 13 başkan daha geldi.

not even my dad, the one who taught me most of the history I know, knew this.

Okay. For those who are wondering "WTF?!"

Here is a history lesson.

It is commonly "known" that George Washington was the very first President of the United States of America. He was not. He was, however, the first President of the United States of America under the Constitution, which is the cause of confusion. Before him came 14 others. 

Peyton Randolph was the very first. He took office September 5th, 1774. 

Another thing.

John Hanson is also someone that people will say was the first President, if they are slightly educated. They are also wrong. John Hanson was the 8th President and took office November 5, 1781. Though, he was the first President to come into office after the final ratification of the Articles of Confederation. That is where people get mixed up in that.
