I just have to share this:

The White Queen BBC TV Series :  So now when we know that "The White Princess" is coming to STARZ as mini-series, what are you looking forward to see in the new show? I definitely want to see the Perkin Warbeck conspiracy unfolding!

It would be interesting to watch TWOTR continued and also Viscount Francis Lovell and Sir Nicholas Brampton and the aftermaths. I am looking forward to the sequel, but don't know if I can digest an entire series with Richmond and his sour faced mother again (the actress Amanda Hale was brilliant, but it was almost painful to watch Beaufort in some scenes)...The Shadow of the Tower was already too much for me to watch. Perkin Warbeck would be very interesting. I wish there would be flashbacks with King Richard III.

Disney Pocahontas, Disney White Queen....Look at Wolf Hall-full of inaccuracies, even though it was mostly period in production. No one cares.

No one messes up with Mrs. Plantagenet!

“Anne, let it go,” Richard said sincerely as they sat for dinner.

In a fancy first-class restaurant, Anne sat before her husband with her face all gloomy. She did not speak much but by her facial expression, Richard knew she was pissed.

This so-called historian who claimed that she did a thorough research on her family history and particularly on her husband wrote a novel and had produced a TV series based on a true story - their story.

Anne and Richard had became well known as parents of a seven year-old boy battling with cancer. Both of them made significant contribution in research and spreading awareness. Then a lady named Ms. G approached them. She claimed to be a journalist and a feminist historian who is fascinating with strong women in history; a woman like Anne Neville inspires her. She invited Anne for an interview and Anne did like her initially. Unintentionally, she revealed some personal history and spilled some beans. The interview ended with a hug.

But then came Ms. G’s novel and TV series.

In the TV series, the counterpart of her husband Richard was busy cheating while Anne’s counterpart was taking care of her ill son. Richard’s counterpart even slept with his own niece.

Anne felt betrayed and was beyond furious. She and Richard consulted a lawyer on this matter. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much can be done given Ms. G’s TV series and novel are fictions not documentary or nonfiction. 

“Anne,” Richard comforted her.

“Don’t,” Anne said. “I’m just going to eat. I love you Richard, I still do and always will. But I’m angry.”

She took a sip of champagne and then spotted someone.

She became pale.

“Anne, don’t...”

She ignored Richard and threw down her napkin. Without a word, she marched to Ms. G.

There were sounds of smashing.

Followed by the sound of punching.

Then by the sound of screaming.

Anne proudly marched back to her table leaving a middle-aged blond woman groaning on the ground.

“No one messes up with Mrs. Plantagenet!” She said.

To @grand-duchessa, @morgan-le-fay, and all of us who are disgusted with the news of TWP to be picked up by Starz:

There is still hope that the show TWP will not happen.

You have heard the term “development hell”, right? That is when the project is stuck in the “production” stage for years and years.

And there’s also the term “release limbo” where a show/film never get to be released.

If you go to IMDB, you’d find tons of shows where it’s announced; stars chosen; script in progress, but nothing more. 

Here are some examples:

CW announced their pursue to make a show on Wonder Woman, a spiritual sequel to “Smallville” in 2012. Current status: still on hold because of the show “Flash” was picked up.

VC Andrew’s “Landry” TV adaption was attempted back in 1990s by CBS and then shuffled here and there and finally, in 2014 development restarted. Nobody knows its current status.

“How I Met Your Dad” - spiritual sequel to “How I Met Your Mother”. Meg Ryan has already been chosen to star in this TV series using the same plot with the gender reversed. It’s not going to happen because 1) HIMYM’s finale met with mixed reviews, 2) production and network have disagreement, 3) actors’ contract expired. Current stats: it’s not working out.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer has the spin-off “Angel”; but there were other ideas that never came to light, “Ripper” and “Faith” - spin-off that focuses on Giles and Faith.  Current stats: nothing yet

So here you go, I am convinced that TWP will not get to be released. It’d probably will be made but not be picked up by Starz. It seems to be that Starz might agree to have it made in case if there’s no other show or particularly costume drama to broadcast.

Taming of the Queen by P. Gregory is out

At most she was sympathetic towards people like Anne Askew but to save them?) 

From an author who has described all of Henry’s queens comes a deeply intimate portrayal of the last: a woman who longed for passion, power, and education at the court of a medieval killer.

Despite initial plans for a second series, on 20 August 2013, the BBC announced they were not commissioning a second series, possibly due to the lukewarm reception the series received. Indeed, in October 2013, The Telegraph reported that Starz is planning to develop a sequel miniseries called The White Princess, based on Gregory's 2013 novel of the same name. The miniseries never materialised as the funding was never in place.
