k im gonna be HELLA serious right now so sorry for this weird analogy of characters but why do i feel like dave is the most open person out of the kids?
like i love the kids, i really do, but GG just admitted that everything is fine when somebody loses her birthday present after years of making it and a bit too optimistic when johns neighbourhood blew up, especially considering he can’t find his dad. rose basically uses sarcasm for everything (which i love) but for serious moments, im not sure its the best thing when your friends are panicking. and she wants john to survive so she’s telling him he can’t exactly get emotional if he wants to play the game properly. and then john is ignoring his friends and focusing on the game more than he is talking to GG and dave, gathering they’ve been asking for him and have yet to have a conversation at THIS point. i get he’s in danger tho, hence why im not putting that against him. and of course we obviously see later on they all did have a genuine convo, but this conversation is prior to that.
dont get me wrong, im not judging the kids for that. i love them, and dave can be a little too “ironic” with his interests as well. take sbahj for example.
but when it comes to his friends?? he’s just so caring?? like ive noticed that so much. when john needed him, he stopped rapping immediately and asked what the matter was, he also mentions his friends at least once in about every interaction he had over the span of the comic, and just.... hes such a good friend. he’s so respectable.
