We sometimes have practice spars in class, and almost constantly during the Grand Cross (where the audience gets to ask the debaters questions) references are made to Hitler and Communism. It's chaotic.

It sounds it!! Funny thing is, it sounds like the kind of thing  would have hated with a passion when I was at school but would really quite enjoy doing now!

I'm doing a category called Spontaneous Argument, or Spar, which is the least serious thing ever. The topics are stuff like red vs green or cookies vs brownies or stuff. It isn't remotely serious. It's hella fun though.

It sounds it too! Ahhhhh, I kind of wish I could watch! OK you need to come and tell us everything abut the debate, including what weird topics you get, and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that it goes really well and you have loads of fun!

California's a pretty cool place. I actually live there. Also, I'm doing a Speech and Debate tournament this weekend, so wish me luck!

Awwww, thank you so much! I have one sick child draped over my feet (like a human hot water bottle) and a healthy one covering me with a blanket at regular intervals. She's been looking after me the last few days like a mini-doctor!
