Fallen Angel
She fell from the sky and landed in my roses,
she was beautiful and ancient, older than Moses.
She didn't fall from grace, though she certainly fell,
there's no explanation why she landed here, and not in hell.
~
I picked her up, carried her, and placed her in my bed,
pulled the covers over her, and put ice on her head.
She had a swollen bruise in her pale white skin,
Lips so red they remind one of mankinds first sin.
~
She awoke but a few hours later, in almost a fright,
Disoriented, and asking, "where is the light?"
I was confused by her voice, a most harmonic sound,
and questioned, "what do you mean, it's mid day,
there is light all around!"
~
She assured me that I couldn't understand what she meant,
she babbled for hours, and I just let her vent.
I offered her some juice, I don't recall what kind.
She gave me a strange glare, as if she could read my mind.
~
I played it off to avoid all detection,
I asked, "why was my garden your selection?"
She huffed and pouted and then turned away.
What is this creature that befell me today?
