@winter-solstice-soldier (AKA my main account, where my follows and likes come from. It’s my most active, too. Prime: once a part of HYDRA, born and raised there, in fact. They left with the help of a Widow that is a sort of mother figure now, and they go on missions to attempt to help take HYDRA down once and for all. They have some AU versions, as well, check them out in their intro post.)

@mirage-widow (a Black Widow, an elite assassin. She has a slight telepathy mutation and the ability to refract light. She is cutthroat, and dedicated to her missions. Not the friendliest person ever.)

@bucketload-of-barnes-siblings (Winter Solstice’s siblings and their younger self. They accidentally fell through time, collected their siblings, then returned to the correct time with them in tow. They’re doing their best to give the kids a better life.)

@just-finch-things (a vigilante in Gotham. She was orphaned after her family got into a collision with a drunk driver. She was adopted by Bruce Wayne, trained, and became the vigilante Finch. She later changes her vigilante name to Rosefinch. Then, later to Scarletfinch, a vigilante that uses gases and toxins to take down her opponents.)

@styx-maybe-mothman (a kid living on the streets of Gotham, alone. They work at a bookstore, but they have a secret: they’re a metahuman, with the ability to shapeshift between a human form, an owl form, and a form that’s somewhere in between those two. People whisper that they seem like Gotham’s version of Mothman, and they’ve accepted the title, because it’s funny.)

@hidden-phantom (a lab experiment gone wrong. It’s stuck somewhere in a hidden lab, though it can send extensions of its will out towards the outside world, called Phantoms or Shades or Ghosts. It longs to reach the surface for real, some day.)

@jays-multimuse-blog (just a blog with multiple fellas that I decided didn’t have enough to make full blogs for/were moved from a different blog so I don’t have fifty blogs going at once lol.)

@corvid-chaos (a girl with a curse. The curse of having multiple corvids that can speak follow her around. Oh, and to add insult to injury, she’s the only one that can see the corvids. It’s… complicated.)

The Phantom/Numina Experiment

Lore

Phantom - or, as called by its creators, The Numina Project - is a being of great power. It was an attempt to create a deity or something of great power to serve mankind, a great show of hubris and not realizing that creating something like this would have consequences. When its creators realized the disastrous consequences of its existence, they locked it into its tank/chamber where it was grown and made. The laboratory was abandoned, buried, with any records of its existence wiped.

It was many years later that the project managed to gain some consciousness/sentience. It is kept in a mostly sleeping state, but it has some ability to project extensions of its will - called “Shades” or “Phantoms” - into the real world, away from where it was made.

These manifestations of itself wander the world, taking in the sights and sounds, though they cannot feel or taste or smell. These creatures are incorporeal. These creatures wander, searching for someone or something that can free it from its underground prison.

Though, freeing it may lead to disastrous consequences…

Abilities

Contained

It can create the Shades/Phantoms, it can channel its telepathic abilities through these shades. It can create shades of many shapes and forms, and cause areas to be cloaked in shadow.

It seems to be immortal, though it is unsure of how long it has existed, it knows it shouldn’t be alive.

Freed

It is unclear… though it is obvious that if it ever manages to escape the confines of its chamber it will be deity-levels of powerful. Capable of great destruction, or great creation.

Appearance(s)

Physical Body (“Numina”)

It doesn’t know what it looks like until it is out of the chamber. It can be assumed that is is humanoid. Once out of the chamber, it has pale skin (near sheet-white), and very long, inky black hair that flows like it is still in liquid, its hair seems to absorb all of the light around it. Its eyes are pitch black, seeming to suck in all of the light around it, like its hair. It appears to be more feminine than masculine. It has some purple - sometimes glowing - markings.

While its shades are very fluid, the physical form of Numina isn’t fully static either. Sometimes things will seem off. Like height, face shape, hair length, subtle things. Other times it will just grow new limbs or body parts or something. Like eyes, wings, antlers, extra set of arms, tails, etc. Nothing is static with this creature.

Phantoms

These appear as shadows. Even in bright areas, it is a dark shadow. It appears as a 3D shadow, even. Occasionally, they can appear to have a glitching effect, or something parts of it can go invisible/somewhat transparent.

They can come in many forms, humanoid, as a creature, or blobs or random other shapes.

Celestial Being - Chaos & Nyx (imagine their voices stacked and then there’s multiple other layers of voice under them, like there’s many many people speaking in unison)

Personality

It is pretty aloof. Not because it’s trying to act cool, but because it is constantly only about half-conscious. It gets attached easily. Talking to it, especially if you praise or are nice to it will likely result in your shadow being a bit darker than usual, maybe even having white eyes.

Day 8 - Blue Sky

Phantom had finally escaped that prison. That deep bunker, and within it, the chamber that it had known for its entire existence.

The closest thing it had seen to the wonders around it were the shades it could conjure and send to the rest of the world, but that couldn’t capture the utter breathtaking beauty all around it. Even the colors seemed more vibrant.

The sun was rising, and the Phantom could watch. Not looking directly at the sun, of course. It didn’t want to blind itself on its first day out in the real world, but it watched the stars retreat, the crickets stopped chirping, the birds taking their place.

Phantom was in bliss, taking in its new surroundings.

After a few hours of waiting, it looked upward at the brilliant blue sky, the clouds dotting it like decorations. It cared not for the beauty mankind could make, instead it would appreciate what had been there for years, for eras. The sky had watched the rises and falls of kingdoms, of humans, of days and years. Phantom could relate. Watching silently from the shadows, it had observed the cruelty, but also the beauty of the world.

But for now, it lied back in the grass - poking at it, sure, but the physical sensation was worth it. It let the tiny bugs crawl over it, it didn’t mind them either - and taking in deep breaths of the scent of plant life and warmth.

This, this warmth, this beauty and this connection with the outside world? This made those lonely, painstaking years of looking for a way to escape that hole it crawled out of worth it. It was and it would always be worth it, so long as it had the bright blue sky to look forward to.

If you're one day able to escape and reach the surface what would you like to do first? What do you want to do the most?

Hm… I’d like to taste food. It looks good. I’d like to feel the grass and smell the smells. My Phantoms are unable to do anything more than see and hear, so anything to do with the other sensations, I’d like to feel.
